Write a ReviewFrom the first meeting with Ed and Claudia, my family knew we were in great hands. They listened to our needs and wants and offered advice to help us make the best decisions for our family. During the design process, all the details we reviewed and the team listened. The final design was exactly what I wanted. Once Ritz began the remodel, I was kept in the loop from permits, inspections, timelines, and everything else. I was never guessing. The project manger, Aiden, listened to all my questions and made sure I understood each decision made. When it came to the details, Aiden was always a phone call away. He spent hours working to make sure everything was perfect and that I was happy with the end results. Ritz was professional and timely and even completed the project within in the timeframe (over a month earlier than projected). During demolition, the crew worked to overcome any challenges that came their way. The construction process moved quickly and each team was professional. All subcontractors were part of the team ( plumbing, flooring, painting, etc.) they always were professional and answered any questions I had. Even during a pandemic, Ritz was able to design and build my dream home. I appreciate all their hard work and dedication to the remodel. Aiden is knowledgeable with his skills and handy work and led the team with excellence. Eddie designed a home that met all my family needs. The crews were top notch and the best of the best. And Ed and Claudia always treated us like family when we met. If you need your home remodeled, Ritz is the company for you.
I was very impressed with the Ritz Design Team. They came to my house to view the property, were very knowledgeable, professional and personable. They were patient ,answered all of our questions and gave us options that we had not thought of. I totally recommend this company.
From beginning to end, Ritz Design Build provided excellent service. Everyone we worked with was friendly, helpful and honest. They did an amazing job on our room addition and did everything with our budget in mind. Our project manager, Dick, was great at communicating with us on what to expect, our timelines and made sure that our expectations were met. The owner, Shar, ensured that our home and living conditions were not severely interrupted. She seemed as though she was personally invested just as we were. Matt, the architect brought our vision into reality and provided tasteful suggestions keeping our wishes and budget in mind. Every single step was as easy and as stress-free as possible. We would recommend them for any job you need done.
We contacted Ritz Design and Build a little over a year ago about potentially adding on to our home. We had a large backyard, but were limited by both a pool and an existing detatched garage. They worked with us to design and build a 621 square foot addition that added a den and masterbedroom suite off the back of our house. To start, we requested bids from four companies, but Ritz came in with the best price and a flexibility that made our project possible. And wow, we got what we paid for and more! Ritz's team of contractors are excellent. They were generally quick, professional, and showed a pride in craftsmanship that is often not seen today. It mattered to the whole team that the work they did was of excellent quality, not just good enough. And they moved quickly once they were able to break ground. From demo to final inspection we were just under five months. Since we were responsible for providing all fixtures, their success hinged on our ability to have things when they needed them. We held up our end and they held up theirs. We moved in to the new space the week before Christmas though final inspection didn't occur until January. As with any contractor, we had our challenges, but with Ritz we were able to work through them and keep the project moving forward. In the end, it was worth all the stress and angst that comes with a project of this size. If you are looking to add on or remodel your home I would highly reccomend the Ritz team.
Our experience with Ritz was one of the most professionally satisfying experiences we've ever had. After designing and building no less than four homes as we traversed the country, first in the Navy and then in civilian life, we like to think we learned something about good design, permitting and construction practices. The professionals at Ritz have, in our mind, re-defined the standard of excellence for us. We built a two-car garage with a small granny flat apartment above it; certainly not one of Ritz's high dollar projects, but you wouldn't know it by the attention given our project from start to finish from every member of the design and construction teams. Many know, at least intuitively if not by experience, that the most important part of any construction project is the foundation. If it isn't plumb and square then nothing else that follows will be either. Sure, a good framing crew can cover up foundation mistakes, but that wasn't the case here. The foundation was perfect (I had it independently checked). And the framing crew? Absolutely the very best I've ever had the pleasure of working on any of my aforementioned four homes. I can say the same for the electrician, mason, painter and on and on. I learned long ago you can tell a lot about a company and in this case a construction team by how clean they keep the construction 'zone' during the day and how they leave it at the end of the day. Not only is it a sign of pride they have in their work, but it is an indicator of how the workers think about their own safety and that of the homeowner. On our last home project, I had to 'get after' the company owner several times for the project not meeting my safety and cleanliness standards. For our Ritz project, I never had to make that call. As I told Ed, the owner of Ritz, his subcontractors, many of whom have been with him for several years (which is almost unheard of in this business) are his competitive advantage over all the other build/design firms in SD. Truth be told, we don't refer to the team that worked on our project as subcontractors; to us they were no less than expert craftsmen. Did the project go perfectly, without flaws? Of course not. I've never had a home build go perfectly, but this one was closer than all the others. Ed was active, engaged and committed to making it right. One of the mistakes was, admittedly ours. In trying to save some money we insisted on a cheaper shower product installation only to have to agree late in the project we were wrong. He had every right to charge us for not only the demolition of the old plastic shower, but then to 'stick it to us' for the new tile installation, especially since our 'change order' delayed the overall project schedule. He surprised us with his generosity and desire to make sure we were satisfied. We are big fans of Ritz and the people behind the logo. We've told Ed and his team to use us as references. We can provide no better recommenda
Before evening coming across Ritz Design, my husband and I had interviewed multiple people in interest of building an addition to our house. When we called Ritz Design to set up a consultation we immediately knew right then that they were the team to do it. Ed is an extremely nice gentlemen and listened to everything that we had to say. Ritz Design built our home addition in Clairemont. They designed and built a laundry room, 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms and a jacuzzi area in addition to our existing home. Eddie did a tremendous job in designing the layout and making the plans. The team took care
Their clever design helped maximize limited space and perfectly integrated the new addition with the existing structure. Our interaction with all members of the team was pleasant and helpful. Their skilled, experienced workmen took pride in the quality of the job. Communication was excellent and we had quick responses to questions. We appreciated that we were kept advised of the work schedule and always knew when workers would be present on our property. We could not be happier with our new bath.
Budge-It Home Remodeling was very professional and helpful and walked us through the project every step of the way. The workers from the demo crew to the foundation layers to the construction crew were all very professional and considerate of our family as we have dogs and small children. They went above and beyond at every curve and well exceeded our expectations. We hope to work with them in the future with any remodeling work and would recommend them to anyone.
I talked to six other contractors before choosing budg=it. I live in Imperial Beach and some contractors won't work down hereI found budge-it kept me notified when they would be here and what they would be doing, They wewre really marvelous about me working iun the area that they were in doing my custom woodworking for trim and other things, They had a carpenter that was just fabolous, He wouldn't settle for good enough, It had to be RIGHT.The seperate trade crews were knowledgeable and some of the best I have seen and their tile guy I would place well above average, Our's was a very diffacult tile job and he did an unbelieveable job for us.
Pushing out two walls was a difficult remodeling job but Budge-It did an outstanding job! I was impressed with their craftsmanship and my outdoor room impresses every visitor. Their design of my shower bench is far more practical and userfriendly than Marrokal's corner design. During this construction we had a family tragedy and they were bending over backwards to accomodate us. We definitely would hire them again!
