Write a ReviewFor almost 3 years now I have been caretaking for an elderly neighbor. He is a Navy veteran with no kids or family near by. In the three years Iâ ve known him: heâ s never had a visitor other than my husband and myself. His living situation was deplorable and piece by piece weâ ve helped him create a home that is livable. My husband and I were finally able to get pregnant and it had been a few months since we had seen our neighbor due to end of pregnancy complications and a stay in the ICU postpartum. When we finally went over to check in, his ceiling had a mold spot that was decaying to the point of seeing a hole where spores were pouring into his house from. I used to work for a competitor restoration company so I immediately was worried about his health, our health as his caretakers, and our newborn baby who visits with us. I also was worried about sleazy business tactics that I had witnessed myself as a marketing representative for a competitor. I posted to Heroes for Hire and was recommended Restoration 1. I am always embarrassed to reach out for help because my neighbor has a very peculiar schedule and it takes a lot of communication to work around it because I am juggling a newborn as well as managing our neighborâ s needs. I got a message and a call back the next day and they were already ready to come out, evaluate, put a protective barrier up so that the mold would no longer be pouring out of the hole, managed insurance, and worked with our neighbor and myself to come in and do the work without disturbing his nocturnal sleep schedule. Did I mention this was all just before and just after Christmas and New Years? Caretaking for the elderly is stressful and being a first time mom recovering from serious pregnancy and postpartum complications is stressful, all on top of taking care of my newborn, but Restoration 1 made the process of mold removal easy. They explained the whole process to myself and my neighbor, found companion companies to work with for the other work that needed to be done (put back and carpeting) and found people who made sure to work with my neighborâ s insurance so he didnâ t have to pay a single cent out of pocket. I personally strive to only hire veterans as a military kid myself and this company is exactly why. They dedicate their lives to other people whether that is on the front line overseas or saving lives one job at a time on the home front. Thank you for genuinely caring about the safety and well-being of our neighbor and thank you for doing such an efficient and thorough job making sure that he is able to stay in his home, safely, for as long as possible. It takes a village and Restoration 1 is definitely a part of that village.
I know it's always crazy around the holidays but when it rains it pours!!! And, that is exactly what happened in our 2 Story home. A relaxing bath turned into a downstairs flood gate. I ran downstairs to see the water was pouring from the pipes. I contacted Restoration 1 and they were at my house within the hour to make sure there wasn't any long term water damage. They understood my worry, since I have had black mold poisoning in the past and they made sure to properly take care of not only the immediate water damage but also cleaned up the area, thoroughly. Both, Jason and Elizabeth were professional and respectful. I hope I won't need them again, however if I do need them I won't hesitate to make the call. Thank You!
Thank you Deborah. We hope you never need us again, but if you do we will be here for you..
Their work ethic is admirable. Because we had to stay here through the work, they made it so easy for us. They were so considerate of us and our four dogs and they work so hard and so efficiently, we are so impressed. Exceptional job done
Restoration ! of Avondale: Jason and his wife were exceptionally prompt always in their replies and service. Additionally, they seem like 2 of the nicest people ever. Did a great job with a nasty cleanup of human and cat feces.
They are very great to work with. They care about the customer and it was great.
