Reviews
Write a ReviewWorking with Ric has been such a breeze. He's extremely reliable and his workmanship is top notch! Highly recommend to anyone who has some projects around the house needing attention.
Ric was very helpful and flexible with all the projects we needed to finish in order to sell our house.
Ric is on time and is very knowledgable.
easy to do business with
Responded quickly, did a good job at a better price tha others quoted. Hired for another project
The project turned out great.
Rick was great! Very nice and efficient and did great work. He put in a ramp in the garage for my diabled mom and installed grab bars.
After receiving an estimate from Ric, I asked if he could do part of a job by a certain day and allow someone else to deliver the soil and he told me that he needed to do all of it because they would disturb the drip system. The next thing I knew, a couple of days later he was at my house with one part of the job (landscape) done without ever receiving a go ahead from myself. At that time I asked for instructions (he gave me the paperwork from the timer) and that has not been found since. There were two places leaking..one was repaired, the other is still dripping. When he returned to replace a door handle on my sliding glass door, the first one he brought didn't work. He left my home with the door handle missing. The next time he showed up ( approx 5 days later) he came with a different door handle and dropped the lock down inside of the door. He got frustrated and said he would be back to retrieve the lock at another time..again several days passed...(now the door doesn't have a handle or a lock. Fortunately, I had some wood blocks that I put on the track that gave me a little security. When he finally showed up he spent 3 hours trying to retrieve the lock from inside the door and at the same time was opening and closing the door (he said about 30 times) and actually moved several shims that were placed there 6 months ago by another contractor. Now all the shims are squished together in the under the center of the track and the door is wobbly from one side to the other when it is open half way. Ric explained to me that the other guy who repaired it didn't know what he was doing and that Ric would cut a long shim and bring it back on Monday and try to repair what he undid. Before he left, he handed me an invoice and asked for payment..I wrote a check...and about 30 minutes later the outside handle fell to the ground and the inside handle came off the door in my hand. The lock is very loose and I don't know if that will work either. He sent me an email on Saturday night with a photo of a "new sliding glass door" from Home Depot an said that be the next fix for my "wacky door". I texted him that evening explaining what happened and he said he would be here Monday am...I texted him again Monday am to ask when he would be here and I haven't heard from him. I have let him know that I am not satisfied with what he left behind..blood and cement on the glass door, black grease on my off white carpet and lots of mud in my yard by the sod that was cut to install the drip line. I also let him know that I would make this report and have hired someone else to see if the door can be repaired.
Ms. G never paid for any materials or labor that I supplied on this project. From what I learned while on the project as she had done this with the previous service provider whose work I finished. The main part of this project was to build a raised planter and add a drip irrigation line with a timer in her backyard. The lumber I used was supplied by another provider who walked off this project after the customer would not pay him for the materials he supplied. That part of the project was completed quickly and within the estimated budget. I was never paid for this work as Ms. G. stopped payment on the check she provided and I was charged a returned check fee from my bank for this in the amount of $35.00 I provided numerous additional services to this customer for which she was not charged. I felt sorry for her she had an awful experience with a tenant who did damage to her basement rental apartment. He had to be evicted. The door in questions was 20 years old and was repaired as well as it could have been since it was installed out of square and cockeyed in the opening in the first place or the home had settled thus making the door bind. I suggested that the best solution was replacing the door and installing it in a square opening rather than doing repairs to the original door. Attempts to repair this door had obviously been made earlier by others to no avail. I replaced a broken patio door lockset with a universal new one. I worked perfectly when I left. I only charged for the repair as estimated for labor and materials. I informed her that I could not warrant the repair as the best solution was to replace this old patio door unit. I always removed my shoes when entering her home so I could not have brought in any dirt. I always protect the surrounding areas and clean up area with a vacuum. There were other workers at this home removing some landscaping (removing juniper bushes) at the same time I was there not more than 20 feet away. I have no idea if this contractor brought in the dirt to the home. This project was a "he said-she said". I explained what had occurred to Home Advisor after I received this very negative review from a customer who paid zero for my services. They refused to remove or modify this negative review after I explained what had occurred with this customer. It is the only negative review I have ever received from Home Advisor. My life experience has been in this business for over 30 years is that you can never please everyone you do business with.
Ric is a high quality contractor, who I would definitely hire again.
Always on time and clear about all work and what needed to be done.
