Rob McLaughlin was hired to eliminate the drainage problem in my gently sloping driveway, by doing some major grading, resloping, and installing two drain pipes. When the driveway was done, he was to top it off with some pea stone. He insisted on being paid up-front; the job cost over $3000, He installed the drainage pipes, but neglected to grade and slope the driveway to fully alleviate the problem. The drains have been inadequate and the water continues to pool at the bottom of the driveway. In fact, a guest at my home slipped and fell hard on her back last winter, something I had hoped, after employing Rob, would not happen. We have met and spoken several times, and Rob is now despondent. Even though he was paid in full, Rob never completed the job. On a rainy day, I have since had an engineer to evaluate the situation. He views one of the drainage pipes as being ineffective, and mentioned that there is room in the driveway to do the necessary grading and re-sloping. Home Advisor has promised to address this, but I am hoping he reads this and responds, as I will be renting my home for seven weeks this summer, and I have only a couple of weeks to have the property ready. It has been at least two months since we talked. If he is unable to complete the job, he needs to reimburse me in full, as I will have to employ another professional to do it right. Next, is allowing Home Advisor to step in and/or small claims court.
Yes you Did Pay for the Drainage all at Once the Payment was $2020.65 the regrading as you stated was to be done after as Discussed , Yes you did call me 2 months ago I said I would review or estimate as you wanted extra grading that was not discussed on the back side of the driveway . original all you problems as we both thought where coming from the road side if that has changed we need to re address how to tackle it . the last time we both met in the rain the drains that we installed where working properly the water is coming from the back and running off by the garage doors I was willing to help but what your idea was unreasonable I don't think it would work as I discussed with you which is Y I have not contacted you since , I see no reason to go on with you as we don't agree on things as far as a refund You paid for the drains which we installed the resurfacing and minimal regrading in front of the garage doors is $1200 which was not paid if your going to bash me and my Company please have your facts straight I will be happy to resend the original estimate and the invoice you have paid to re fresh your memory. Rob
I liked that they gave us a date when work would be done. They stuck to it and they were continually in contact with us with our questions we had.
Great job. Would highly recommend them.
Ron was very professional from the start to finish. I had a blocked basement drain repaired and a new day light drain installed to this basement drain. The work was outstanding. The basement doesn't flood anymore. Thanks Ron for a great job well done.
