The Playground professional came out did an estimate, and said they could cut down the tree, however they only cut down one large branch. Then he stated that they would need a thirty foot lift to cut the whole tree down and ask me to talk to my neighbor to help cut down the tree. He also stated that it will cost $2,000.00 for the work.
Response from Company:
Ms. [Consumer name withheld at their request] contacted me via email on 23 October 2015 and asked (her EXACT quote) "Are you able to remove tree branches that are hanging over my garage?" Upon inspection for bidding the work, I observed two VERY large leads hanging over her garage. Throughout our conversation, she voiced concern about these two limbs falling on her garage. Since the tree is located in the neighbor's yard, I suggested that she contact the neighbor about completely removing the tree and possibly sharing the expense. She stated that she had already spoke to the neighbor, and they were not interested in having their tree cut down. Ms. [Consumer name withheld at their request]then hired me to remove the two large leads that were on her side of the property line. After completing the work that she hired me to do, at the agreed upon price ($550), she then questioned me as to why we hadn't removed the entire tree. I was never hired to remove the entire tree. The entire tree was not hers to remove, only the portion on her side of the property line. The neighbor (and owner of the tree) did not wish to have their tree removed. I will not unlawfully trespass onto someone else's property and cut down their trees, against their will. [Consumer name withheld at their request] got a great value for her money. We had to repel into the tree to remove these huge (tree size) limbs, navigating around power lines and drop the limbs clear of the garage that they were hanging directly over. We cleaned up the job site and hauled away all of the wood, so that she wouldn't have to be burdened with it.
