Peter Storey Architecture

We hired Peter for a gut renovation of our coop in Park Slope. Peter was very professional, communicated regularly and has a great sense of design. He was very involved in the process and overseeing the work done by the contractors. I would highly recommend him for any renovation project.

I hired Peter on two separate occasions over the last few years. Once for a gut renovation of a triplex in the West Village. Again for a gut renovation of a 1-bedroom in the West Village. I cannot stress how pleased I was… His design eye and taste are great. He knows how to be modern, without being overly-trendy. His architecture skills let him see the less-than-obvious solutions needed in dealing with a pre-war building. Dealing with the complexity of NYC renovations is where he really set himself apart. Buildings Dept, Landmarks, Co-op Board, Contracts, Sub-contractors... It is a maddening puzzle. Peter handled it with professionalism and relentless energy. The highest possible recommendation if you want both top-notch design, and an excellent overall experience.

Pete helped us combine two one bedroom units into a three bedroom apartment. He designed a beautiful floorplan and exhibited excellent flexibility once the walls were opened up and we were able to see what we were actually working with in the space. Pete was full of ideas for making the most of the space with a small footprint. After the design was complete, Pete oversaw the execution of the entire project and kept our contractors honest. I could not recommend Pete more for any project. We certainly plan on hiring him for our next project.

Peter designed our cabin in Alaska. He was willing to visit the site (not a hardship, but he is busy) and he immediately understood our focus on energy efficiency and sumptuous interior features. The majesty of the setting was brought into every element of his design. He is responsive, client focused and professional and I give him the highest rating without reservations.

Pete is the consummate professional. He was our architect for a huge apartment renovation (we merged two units into one) but he really leaned into the project and ultimately ended up serving as our on-site manager (keeping the entire construction / contractor team accountable) and given his keen design eye somehow was our pseudo-interior designer as well. He has an incredible eye for detail and always was two steps ahead of me in thinking through all the decision making (and making sure I didn't fall into any traps, since working with the DOB is very very tricky). He is truly the most amazing architect and I couldn't recommend him MORE. Extremely trustworthy and has a very very deep bench of skills that is so helpful when renovating / building a home.
