I hired North Texas Spray Foam Insulation for a specialty job: reinsulating my vintage aluminum travel trailer. Owner came out for a site evaluation prior to performing the work and it was a great visit. I thought the price was a little high but honestly didn't have a very fair baseline to judge by. He said he could have me taken care of in a day with a group of his guys. It took a week and multiple different visits and workers. First group came out and were moving along but encountered mechanical difficulty with their pump and left. Inconvenienced as I was, I also realized that sometimes this kind of thing happens and they can't do much until the problem is fixed. Owner called and said he was able to get another guy out later that day to finish up, at which time I thought, "This is fantastic!". Well, it became apparent once the other guy arrived that he was pretty peeved to have to work longer hours that day and it showed in his work. He sprayed EVERYTHING! Vent holes that needed to remain open for re-installation of vent fans: sprayed closed. Converter box wires that needed to remain untarnished for the re-installation of the converter box: completely coated. Even the insides of my coaxial cables were coated! Owner sent a third group of guys the next day (or two days later, I can't remember at this point) who were supposed to finish out the job. They got almost halfway done after "working all day" and just up and left....they arrived late and left early so I guess four hours of work constitutes "all day". At this point I was pretty upset and talked to the owner. He was apologetic and genuinely wanted to make things right. He came out with (I think) his kid and some other guys who hadn't been out before and they finished out the job. Unfortunately, several of our wires got knicked by their scraper so we have some repair work to do now but at this point we are thrilled to be done messing with insulation. All in all, the owner REALLY means well and wants to do a good job, unfortunately his group of hired hands just don't seem to share the same work ethic and motives. 2 stars for work quality because of all the damage done to our wires, kinked propane pipes, and scratched up window frames. 3 stars for customer service because the owner really meant well and can't be completely at fault for the poor decisions made by his workers. 4 stars for the value because once it was all said and done, the insulation works great and has provided structural integrity to my trailer. I'm sure this company would do wonders in a traditional environment such as attics, crawlspaces, warehouses, etc.; but be careful if you're looking for a custom job on a nontraditional trailer.
