They were on time, curteous, quick and friendly. A team of 3 had my gutters cleaned in short-order, (and they were jammed full of debris)! Very professional.
I originally booked with Ned Stevens in early July, for cleaning and repairing the gutters and downspouts on our two and a half story home. We provided the height and the square footage of the home and noted which downspouts had come off. After a lengthy conversation and several attempts at an **up-sell** we settled on a cleaning and repair service to be done within 1 week. The charge of $335 was quite a bit higher than prior gutter cleaning jobs weve had completed, but we had water coming into the basement from an overflowing gutter. No appointment date or time could be made per the rep. They simply indicated they would contact us when they were in the area and available. I received an email that evening confirming the service to be completed and the service price. A week passed by with no update or visit made. I called a few times the following week to ask for an estimated date of service and none could be provided. FOUR weeks after booking I received a text indicating **Ned Stevens is on their way** Great! No more than 5 minutes later I received another text indicating they couldnt complete the service and to call for an explanation. I go outside and nobody was there. They never rang the doorbell, or called to let us know they were outside or what the issue was. I called their call center and they indicated they couldnt access our water for their hoses. Huh? I just had the sprinklers on the night before. They couldnt provide any more detail, nor would they confirm a future service date. They indicated they would be back in the area soon. Beyond frustrating, not to mention dishonest. Another week passes (more than FIVE weeks since booking)... and another text. **Ned Stevens is on their way** They arrive, walk around the house and start to walk back to their truck. I went out to offer them information on the location of the water for their hoses, etc. They proceed to tell me they cant perform the work because its **too windy**. Huh? We had the typical 5 MPH breeze at that time. He assured me he would be back in the morning. We walked the property and I pointed out the areas that we had discussed when booking with them. I received a call at a later date saying they couldnt safely perform the work on our home because their ladders wouldnt reach the gutters. WHAT? They claim their **safety team** declined the job. They knew it was a 2 1/2 story home when we booked the service. All of the gutters are at the 2nd floor height or lower. Weve used other gutter cleaning companies previously and the house has been painted several times. Height and ladders were never an issue for any of them! I even suggested how about cleaning what they thought they could safely reach? But they completely refused to do any of the work they had previously agreed to. After a lot of back and forth it became clear to me what was going on. They had determined the job wasnt worth completing given what they had quoted ($335.00!). Theyre beyond utterly dishonest, unprofessional and unreliable. To try to stand behind BS excuses of **we couldnt access the water** on the first visit, **its too windy** on the second visit, and then calling to indicate you cant safely reach the second floor gutters - versus simply admitting you undercharged a job is unbelievable. And to add insult to injury waiting 4 weeks to back out. I would simply never recommend them to anyone. Buyer beware! We strongly suggest you look elsewhere!
