Write a ReviewSTILL WORKING ON PROJECT
This is a response to his false reply from review dated 10/14/2020. Response from Company: In most cases, as in this, the wife hired me to install and stain her two doors. the staining is done before the installation and pictures were approved by her . when I was installing the doors the husband was on top of me as if I did not know what I was doing. Later the wife confessed that he had anger issues. Most of what you read here is not true. If you read my other reviews, it is easy to see that this is not consistent, as most things are. -- This is a total LIE! My wife was not involved in this at all. Re-read my past review - EVERYTHING is TRUE. I was the only one involved from the start to the disappointing finish! Do not let this incompetent and dishonest person in your home!
Don is an experienced professional. He made important suggestions that made the project work, including suggesting exactly where to buy the doors. His bid was fair and accurate. The quality of the work, replacing a sliding door with French Doors, was excellent. His attention to detail is outstanding. He got the job done on time. He cleaned up the project area. I'd hire him again without any hesitation.
He is very efficient and knows his work. He works fast and does a thorough job.
Did a great job of removing old door and installing new door with trim plus weather proofing. Would highly recommend.
A real professional... great quality work and he is fast
Did a great job installing our new doors!
*** READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE HIRING Major Image Construction (Don Peterson) ***I had Don stain and install 2 exterior doors and the whole process was a nightmare! My rating is as follows - He starts with the full 5 stars before the work, then the following is deducted:-1 star: lack of communication - From the beginning, he did not communicate clearly. When asked about details of the job, he would ignore communication completely.-1 star: dishonesty - I found out later that he never stained a door before. During our initial meeting, we agreed that there would be 2 stain coats and several coats of varnish. I discovered that he only used 1 coat of stain and varnish. The varnish was sprayed on to save him time. When I asked why he only used 1 coat, he said 2 coats would have made it more white than transparent (which is what I was after)! It was not his call to make, he should have asked me before spraying on the varnish.-1 star: faulty equipment - Some of his equipment was worn and unsafe. He was using a power extension cord that had bare exposed wires. When I pointed the bare wires out to him, he stated that it was only the ground wire. I am just glad he did not blow up my house with those dangerous cords! During the install process, his nail gun gave out so he was yanking on the gun, while pointing it everywhere. I was close by and it made me very nervous. I did not want a nail to accidentally shoot out and hit my skull!-1 star: lack of skill - When installing the deadbolt, he did not know that it can extend. Almost every dead bolt manufacturer has deadbolt cylinders that can extend and accommodate different back set lengths. For someone doing this so long, you would think he was aware of that feature. When it came time to remove my threshold, he used a small power saw to cut down the middle of the threshold and ended up cutting into my floor! He works alone without an assistant, so the doors had damage on the corners from him moving it around and taking it off his truck. He also damaged the small part on the top of each door because he left his visor attached to the top door frame. I thought he would learn from his first mistake, but the same thing happened again on the second door install.-1 star: rude - He did not lay down floor protection for one of the doors so my floor ended up getting scratched up. When I pointed this out to him, he blew up and started banging his hand on my floor and cursing. My 5 year old son was a few feet from us so I told him to show some respect since my son was present. I had to tell Don on several occasions to watch his language as my son was right there.-1 star: lack of accountability - When I pointed out the floor scratch marks in front of both doors, he said he did not do it. From his past reviews, there seems to be a trend - he blames it on others and does not take accountability for his mistakes.-1 star: lack of respect for owners property - Before he started work, I asked him politely to please be extra careful with the sofa since it is new and I paid a lot of money for it. Minutes after I said that, he pushed his work table right up against the sofa. A little later, he puts his sharp power tools right on top of the sofa! When it came time to clean up, there were dust particles all over the floor. He used his air compressor to blow dust out to the backyard. I told him I would sweep since I did not want dust particles to shoot under my sofa, but he insisted it would not and continued to use the air compressor to blow air. Although the air was low, I found a bunch of dust particles underneath my sofa later. Overall, his total rating is a -2, but there are no options for this rating so I will give him the lowest possible. I would NOT recommend Don for any work. If you do, my advice would be to take pics of the area before he starts working on it, watch him like a hawk, and have your loved ones out of the house in case he or his faulty equipment ...

Don did an excellent job in an application many contractors would not touch (installing a replacement door in concrete block home). Work was done on time and with a price well within our budget. Would use him again and recommend his services highly.
Don was very responsive, professional, and he did a fabulous job on my project. They were very cost-competitive and he was good about pricing estimates and letting me know next steps.
