Paul showed up on time and got straight to work. He was friendly, quick and efficient. He did a great job installing my exterior door. He was even kind enough to put the blinds back up. Great customer service. I recommend their services.
In early 2024 Paul Marteeny installed a pocket door between our dining room and our laundry room. There are many things about how he worked and the resulting product which I think all contractors should consider doing. * The estimate: Paul listened to what we needed and created a line item list from which I could choose. He could, for instance, do all the demolition himself and later painting or fill work, he could buy the new door and lock set, he could install the door. In the end, I chose to do the demo and fill/painting myself. Paul would buy the door and install it. What most contractors do is state a flat price, take it or leave it. Paul let's you choose and pick what fits you! * The door: I was able to pick the door and lock set from some options Paul gave me. There were many options and he gave me some ideas about what would work with our 1908 home. I paid half the cost of the overall project and he ordered the door. * Demo: I did the demo but needed guidance from Paul to make sure I didn't remove too much or too little. If he was annoyed by my questions, he didn't show it. I think, in the end his help and my work came together well enough for him to start. * Install part 1: Paul's order had not come through, but with demo done he didn't want us to wait too long, so he began work to cut the framing and add support where needed. He was concerned about making sure the doorway was properly formed to support the wall, but turns out the wall there as not load-bearing...but he did the right thing anyway. Paul removed trim work and pieces of the laundry room wall, but did it in a way it could more easily be repaired. Without the ordered door, Paul put in a temporary "slab," as he called it. When the order comes through he would return to install it. Even though we had not agreed on this earlier, it seemed fair, and Paul agreed, that I should pay 1/4 of the total estimate for the work done to this point, which I did. * Install part 2: This work went smoothly and the door looked very nice. Our old house, btw, did not make it easy, but Paul somehow managed to balance the door so it slid well and parked correctly! I paid the final 1/4. * Summary: All in all, Paul was considerate of what I would have to do to prepare for him...and what I would need to do to repair walls afterwards (as I had chosen to do this myself). He worked independently and got the work done to our complete satisfaction. The only two minor issues I had: I was not given a copy of my signed agreement to do the work and after part 1 it was difficult to reach him. Everything worked out on what mattered most. We enjoy our new door!
Paul did great work! He arrived on time, was a good communicator, and paid attention to details. I would not hesitate to recommend him! He installed a replacement front door and a new screen door.
Paul did a wonderful job installing a new front door and new screen door. He worked efficiently and made sure both doors fit and swung easily. I am very satisfied! You will be glad you chose Marteeny Construction.
I have had Marteeny complete a few projects for me and each one has turned out wonderful. Paul is professional, does a fabulous job and stands behind his work. I highly recommend Marteeny Construction.
Great communication and execution. Paul was super respectful and went above and beyond. I would work with the, again and will recommend to friends!
Thank you Anthony it was a pleasure working with you.
I called Paul on Monday for a quote to replace my 60+ year old storm door. He came that day, emailed an estimate/contract the day after. Friday we had our new door; much nicer than the one it replaced
Very professional in all aspects,I was very impressed.
The person you hope you would get for your project.
