The very first day, Charlie told me it wasnâ t his job to explain anything about plumbing to homeowners. He does not like to communicate. He told me that a mechanic is not going to explain things to customers. Either the customer wants the part fixed or replaced or not. I informed Charlie that the lead Technician at the dealership had, just the previous week, spent over 30 minutes answering all of my questions. He specifically ignored many of my instructions. 1. I told him I wanted the sewer line buried at a certain depth so I would have enough drop to tie in another line in the future. Charlie buried the line as shallow as possible. 2. I told him I wanted the sewer line slab penetrations core drilled (no penetrations would have even been needed if he had buried the line at the proper depth). Good ole Charlie chiseled my brick and then did absolutely nothing to repair the gaping holes he made. His helper just covered them over with dirt and made me an amazing termite superhighway. 3. I told him I wanted â code plus best practicesâ . Charlie gave me neither. Not a single vertical pipe was plumb. Charlie explained his â guyâ (Tony) had a hard time getting the fittings straight before the glue dried. Neither Tony or Charlie should be â plumbersâ if they canâ t make things â plumb.â The vent lines above the ceiling were sloped backwards and the roof penetration was nowhere near straight - and I had to pay someone else to fix these deficiencies. Had I not caught the improperly sloped vent lines, rain water would have accumulated in the pipes instead of draining and eventually leaked; and sewer gases could have escaped into my home. Then, my new plumber discovered that Charlie had run the cold water line to the hot water side of BOTH shower valves and vice versa. That explains why the shower would not get hot. I waited six weeks to use the shower I had already paid Charlie to fix. Had to have that fixed by a real plumber as well. They also used a galvanized cap next to a brass fitting without a dielectric break. This will cause the galvanized to corrode faster. Water lines were not secured inside walls or above the ceiling. Even though I told him where the washer and dryer were going, Charlie placed the water service for the clothes washer behind the dryer. if he couldnâ t remember, he could have called me. But Charlie doesnâ t like to communicate. Oh yeah, and he failed to level my $1,500 bath tub in the bed of concrete when he placed it. One corner was 1/4â low. Had to shim up the lip which could lead to premature failure. Then, after promising me multiple times that he would be on site to finish the job before spray foam went in, he dropped the ball. Didnâ t show up. No phone call. No text. Crickets. Project was delayed by a week while I found someone else to finish the job. But Iâ m glad I did because otherwise I would not have discovered all the other mistakes he had made. Charlie Kelson is the biggest regret of my project. He needs to inspect his employeeâ s work and make them fix things. Charlie is either incompetent or doesnâ t care about the quality of the work he provides. Ultimately the boss is responsible for the work and Charlie does not know how to take responsibility.

Awful customer service. The plumbers are a dime a dozen, this crew is just flat out rude when they get a job and then they refuse to finish the work.

If you want a good plumber don't call Kelson Plumbing. He is very unprofessional and like a bull in a china shop, will over charge you. All I wanted is someone to change a 3 valve shower diverter. I told him before he started the job the existing plumbing was CPVC and can break easily. He said no problem. First he broke a pipe joint and claimed he didn't do it. Said it was already broken. I reminded him the house had water pressure on before he started and it wasn't broken then. We left it with it broke all by itself. Then he broke another pipe and it was still not his fault, it twas already broke as well. This pipe was down low so he had to come in from the other side of the wall to get to it. He had to remove the dishwasher and cut a hole in the wall to get to the pipe. When he opened the door on the dishwasher, he started twisting and pulling on the door to get it to slide out but then realized it was bolted in. When he got the dishwasher out, the door would not shut back as it was twisted out. This too was not his fault. He said he was not an appliance man. While he was finishing up the plumbing, I got the door to at least close but still hard to open and I am worried it will leak now. Then, when they turned the water back on one of them had left a faucet valve open and it started flooding the kitchen. This too was not his fault as he claimed they did not open that valve. I reminded him the house had water on it when he started and the valve was closed then. He insisted they did not open that valve and it was not his fault it flooded my kitchen. While he finished checking for other leaks and putting the dishwasher back in, I cleaned up the water mess. The final problem was he charged me $140 more for having to fix his mistakes and didn't even say he was sorry for bending the door on the dishwasher that I will have to replace. I was glad to get him out of my house and I wont be calling him back for any warranty work, if I have any more problems with his work.

I'm a local realtor and found Kelson Plumbing LLC from HomeAdvisor.com. Mr Kelson was prompt to return my call, and let me to text him a picture of the Leak problem location (I was an hour and 1/2 away from the home) to get an estimate of repair for my Seller (who is out of state) and did the work the next day. Great Service! I will call this company again and refer him to my customers.
