I DON'T recommend these cons in any way! On 4/22/24, a tech came out, did a quick service call, and $914.75 later I supposedly had freon filled up. My unit is only two years old. I was promised by the owner that the part that caused the leak was under warranty and he would take care of it quickly. I have been calling REPEATEDLY since then and have yet to get an answer. Kira, the co-owner, kept saying the same old lines. "I'll call and check and call you right back." Never did. "I'm working on it." No, she wasn't. "I'm waiting to get a claim number." Where is it? "I'm so sorry. Let me check and I'll call you back in five minutes." Still waiting. I've left message after message, text after text, and now I'm being completely ignored. I called the company that was supposedly handling this warranty claim myself. Turns out there was never a call even made! They've lied and ignored me for MONTHS and never did one single thing to solve the problem. Liars!

Since it is a warranty part, clearly they are not interested in helping, even though they assured me they would. I left a message asking for this supposed claim number so I could pursue it myself. As usual, no reply. I have called the office, called the owners cell phone and left message after message, and sent numerous texts. Everything has been ignored. Their customer service is not just poor; it is nonexistent! After asking around and talking to a few previous customers, I see I am not the first this has happened to. They lost a major restaurant contract due to shady business and even did it to their own church! On 8/5/24 owner Jason Johnston finally contacted me and said they were still waiting on the part. He said it would not be in until September. I asked him when was it ordered. He stammered and said, Six weeks ago. That would have been June 24th. That is TWO MONTHS after they promised they were calling. I contacted the company directly that was supposed to be handling this warranty. The man I spoke to said they had NO open orders for Johnston Cooling & Heating and NO information on me or my air conditioning part. They never even called! These people will lie to you over and over and never do what they say they will do. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau.

I've been having Johnston Cooling and Heating maintain my original Heat pump and air handler so when I needed to replace it I had no hesitation to gave them do it. Even though Jason and his assistant Sheldon showed up later than what the scheduled installation time was, which I totally understand, once they got started they made great progress. Jason made sure the system was working properly before leaving an ensured that if there were any issues to call him right away. One great thing was also the total price ofvthe install was right on with what the estimate was; no surprise expenses. I would definitely recommend Johnston Cooling and Heating to anyone who wants outstanding service on whatever their needs would be.

My outdoor AC unit starting making a loud rubbing noise and was no longer cooling properly. I called Johnston Cooling and Heating at 8:40a.m. Yes, they actually answered the call. No message needed to be left. Took my information and estimated that someone could be there by 1:00-4:00. Received a phone call from the tech (Joseph) around 2:00 letting me know when he would arrive. Arrived right on time with the estimate of 3:00p.m. Took a look, and identified the problem and ran diagnostic tests to make sure there was nothing else going on. By this time it was 4:00-4:15p.m. Everyone knows quitting time/COB is around 5:00p.m. Joseph went, got the parts, came back and replaced the motor and capacitor. Didn't leave until close to 6:15p.m. So... they picked up the phone, gave an estimated time of arrival window, beat that time, found/fixed the problem. Gave an initial quote, and ended up billing me a little less then the quote. Joseph was amazing, polite, caring, knowledgeable, committed, and thorough. I can't say enough about him. How do you beat that? Johnston Cooling and Heating has earned my repeat business. Thank you kindly. And our furry critters that were overheating thank you as well! ~ Joseph, you rock.

They showed up an hour late and spent a lot more billable time than needed. Instead of finally fixing the problem, tried to sell us a new unit for $9000.00 which we do not have. This was the total opposite of the experience that I had with them 2 years ago, which was efficient, thorough, and fairly priced.

I called yesterday to schedule an appointment and they told me someone could be here this morning at 10am. This morning I received a call at about 830am letting me know they could be on their way if that was OK. My 10am appointment turned into about 915am so I was pleased with that. Once Zack showed up be identified himself even though he was in a Johnston van, and I took him around the house so he could find his way to everything he would need. He was extremely pleasant to speak with and did the work very well. I knew what he had done and notified what I would be expecting to have done. Thankfully, there were no major concerns, but even I'd there would have been, I'm confident they would have been fully explained and completed if possible today.

Dave was terrific and extremely knowledgeable about Air Conditioning. He worked through all the problems he was faced with and got both units up and running. Dave from Johnston Cooling is one of the best reps of any company that have been to my home. Courteous, knowledgeable, the epitome of professionalism. Definitely give this man five stars.
