Write a ReviewJay was easy to deal with, his work looks good and he kept to his price estimate
Owner is very nice. Team showed up on time and they were very neat.
Very good all around.
Jay is very proffesional and a pleasure to deal with. On time, cleaned up work space and excellent work for a fair price...would highly recommend.
prompt and efficient
Very professional courteous friendly knowledgeable highly recommend
Jay power washed, sanded and stained our deck. His price was very reasonable and he did a beautiful job. We have an old wood deck that had not been stained in a few years and now it looks amazing. I would highly recommend Jay and will call him again for any projects we need in the future.
Thank you.
Great and professional
Based on the good reviews that I read, I decided to hire this contractor. I believe that I made a big mistake hiring them, and I absolutely cannot recommend them. I had them repair my backyard deck of my house, and asked that they repaint the deck once it was repaired. Although Jay is a very nice friendly person, you need to watch him and his crew very carefully because they typically will cut corners to complete the job as cheaply and as quickly as possible. The balusters that he replaced, many are not totally vertical or evenly spaced and slightly crooked. Some items that should have been replaced were simply filled with wood filler and painted over, rather than replacement with a new inexpensive piece of wood. The worst part of the job is that he decided to paint the deck, merely 3 hours before it rained and it was expected to rain for another two days which it actually did. A simple check of the weather report would have stopped a prudent man who paints for a living, to not paint and wait for proper weather to paint. Rather he simply wanted to finish the job and move on, so he painted even knowing it was going to rain for three days. Even though he used top-of-the-line Benjamin Moore stain, based on the instructions on the can, as well as the paint store manager, clearly said it needed much more drying time, at least overnight drying before allowing it to get wet. According to the paint store, where he personally purchased the paint, the manager said the longevity of the stain is going to be greatly diminished. I'll wait for the paint to start peeling! What a waste of money!!! $2,100.00 Additionally he left a pile of dirt that he dug away from the deck, and even left an unpainted area incomplete, and a damaged section of lattice that he promised to repair or replace. What shoddy workmanship!!! I had got quotes for him to do some inside sparkle and painting, but he cancelled and never returned. Maybe that was a blessing in disguise. I absolutely will NOT recommend Jay Martinez Painting.
Mister Steven is good guy but he want everything "cheap", the real price for the deck is $2800 but he only paid $2100.
