I found a local contractor recommended in Lago - J&R Construction. I ended up using J&R for an elevated deck project that required a bit of design work to come up with something that was capable of holding a heavy spa. John was absolutely great to work with: * Largely, he does most of the work himself. When he needs assistance, he gets it, but he doesn't leave sub-contractors out there doing a job that he was contracted to do. * He has substantial attention to detail and if there are questions, he communicates. * He's technical and understands engineering plans/drawings. * He's conscientious about keeping a clean job site - not only after construction, but during construction as well. * He shows up when he says he will and actually pushed harder to complete a job than was really necessary for our project. * He communicates well, sticks to the plan, and addresses necessary changes well. * Included in his bid were things that I didn't expect - such as sanding and detail work. John made it easy to do the work that we wanted to do on our own, such as electrical and final stain. I've attached a link to the deck and a photo.

Where do I start? First, John is the BEST!! Our home burned to the ground a week before Christmas in 2013. We hired a crook of a contractor that stole over $50k from us and did work that was not only hazardous, but wrong in every direction. John came in, took over, re-did all the crappy work and rebuilt our house from the foundation up. The finished product is better and more than we could've imagined. He is honest, shows up when he says he will, builds to the highest standards, prices fair and is the easiest guy to work with. I've owned and built several homes over the years, as well as used a multitude of contractors and sub-contractors in several states. I can honestly say that John is the best and most reliable contractor I've ever used. We will never use anyone again and we're going to have him build our next property as soon as we purchase some more land. If you are thinking about anyone else, you're crazy!!! He won't leave the job until it's done right.

John is great! We've used him twice and if we need something else we'll call him again. He's painted our living room and kitchen, and walled up our loft to create a home office. He's professional, quick and very clean. When he painted he even took down our blinds and hosed them off! He actually leaves things cleaner than when he started. We have recommended him to our friends too.

You can trust J&R Construction! As a single woman, I was so glad to have found them because I knew John would give me a fair price and follow through on his work. He and his wife Rosario are professional, they work hard, are smart and they try to make sure you are as comfortable as you can be in the middle of your construction zone, which is really important. They are great!

This was my third time hiring J&R, and I'm sure I'll be using them in the future. John knows his stuff but is also great at listening to my design requests. Really pleased with all the work he's done.
