Reviews
Write a ReviewI hired Johnstons Deck and Fence to replace an existing fence that rotted at the post and fell over. The lines on newly installed fence looked great, but they re-used old posts when we had discussed replacing anything that was wood. This is concerning as the posts in other sections of the fence had already broken. Additionally, they installed a fence latch that could only be opened from the outside of the fence; meaning you can not get out if you are inside of the fence. Also, the latch was installed in a way that the fence board has to separate from the actual fence for the gate to close appropriately. I asked the owner in March of 2022 if this could be fixed, as there was a workmanship/warrantee agreement in the contract. The owner had committed to fixing it multiple times, but 10 months later and numerous follow-ups later it has still not been fixed. We had used this company on a previous deck project which turned out fine, but for whatever reason the owner does not want to address the gate latch issue and has not responded to any inquiries lately (or has blocked my number). Keep this in mind if you use this company, make sure everything is perfect prior to paying in full. If the owner wants to reach out to me to correct the issue, I will think about revising this review.
