i had a water softener installed by John. I was impressed with his professionalism. He provided license and insurance and was timely as i requested due to my tight schedule. The softener he suggested and installed was way better than i originally wanted and only $200 more than the other. Very satisfied with the job and the company. More importantly my wife is happy ;)

We have overall nice experience with John E. McCully, he came on time and finished everything in time cleaned up before he left responded to my questions via text messages on parts to be purchased for the install. He even came back and fixed an issue with the water flow to the bowl did not stop, got drained even after the flapper goes down. I would hire him back for my plumbing needs also gave his contact to my friend.

J&L Services (John E. McCully ) owner, I believe sole me something I did not need, after speaking to him on 1/17/18, I bought a brand new hot water heater based on his advise. He said my hot water heater was too old and needed to be replaced. I was not getting hot water and not having any electrical problems before he came out. He came out and installed my brand new hot water heater which took about 3 hours. Before he got started, he said that he needed to check an electrical switch or breaker and asked me where the main panel was. He said it might be out at the street. At the time I was not sure what he was stating. After he finished, I noticed that the water was only luke warm, and I asked him why the water was not getting hot. He said "it just takes a few hours for it to warm up, and the more you use it the longer it will take. When I paid him, I asked him if he could adjust it in order to make the water get hotter . He said " By law it can't be turned higher that 120 degrees that's factory setting". When I took a shower later that evening, the water was luke warm. Later that night, my lights switched off twice because the breakers automatically shut off. I wandered if what he did also caused an electrical problem. When I took a shower the next morning 1/18/18, I almost froze to death. I called him back that morning and advised that he needed to come out because the water was not getting hot. I was on my way to work, and asked him if he would come out when I returned home at 10 pm. He agreed. I called him at 9:19 pm when I was leaving work and told him I was on my way home. He said he was coming over. Of course, when I got home he was not there. He called about 5 min after I returned, and said he had a piece of equipment that wasn't working and that he couldn't come out. This made me furious!! He should have checked his equipment earlier that day since he promised to come out to my home that night. I asked him why the water wasn't getting hot with a new water heater?? He said when he came out the day before, while the old water heater was hooked up, he noticed the electrical breaker was switched off. He never mentioned this before he installed the new water heater. I was unaware and didn't know to check it. I asked him "why didn't you just flip the breaker switch on and see if the old hot water heater was working?" "Why didn't you tell me when you initially saw it before the install??" He said" because I was getting paid to install a new hot water heater!!!!" It would have taken him 5 secs to flip the switch and turn on the water to see if it got hot before even bothering to install the new heater. He didn't want to do that because he is extremely dishonest and has no integrity!!!! He wanted to charge me for a full install of a brand new heater that I probably could have returned and saved $369. He never really intended to come back out as promised and made an excuse to keep from doing so.

5.0 Matt M. Saint Johns, FL

I recently moved into a new house and needed the main shut off valve replaced as well as the shut offs at the washing machine. John was very prompt and was at the house the next day even though it wasn't a rush, not including the time he spent on the phone with me helping to troubleshoot. He and his helper did a great job and was upfront with the pricing from the start. I would definitely recommend and would hire again.

This was not a good experience for us.

Response from Company:

This customer had no understanding of the job that they wanted done or what it would take to do it. They wanted me to lower my price for a 'time and material' job and were upset when I wouldn't. I had lowered it before I gave them the bill and they were looking for something for nothing. I will never do anymore work for this customer!!!!!

Called John to install a house filter in the main line. We set up a future date to arrive at 9AM. He confirmed the appointment the day before and arrived on time. He had everything installed in less than 2 hours. He was professional and knew what to do. I have no issues with the install and he even recommended different things to my husband for our next protect a hybrid water heater. We were totally satisfied with the job.

John is competent, with a real work ethic, and concern for doing a great job of completion of work including restoration of cabinets, for a fair rate. The big plumbing firm helped expose the problem John solved, but was planning to rip out and not restore cabinets and to jackhammer a 12 inch wide path through the terrazzo, and left a mess. The only terraxxo John took up was under the cabinetry,.
