I hired this company to install a pool I had purchased online. When the owner, Frank Sorbello, came out to give me an estimate, he looked at the pool parts with a puzzled look. I asked if he had ever installed an above ground pool and he said that he had. When he and his crew showed up to do the installation, I could see that they had no idea what they were doing. They did not even know that they had to put a patio block under each upright. I tried to assist them and keep an eye on them. As it got close to the evening, they rushed to put in the liner and only added about 9 inches of water. I finished filling the pool the next day and that is when I noticed that the pool was 3 inches off level. Also, upon entering the pool, my wife and I felt bumps and dips over the entire bottom. Believe it or not they used a laser level. When I complained to Frank, he said that he felt bad and wanted me to be happy. He asked what would it take. I asked him to refund me $200. He said fine. Weeks went by, no check. He kept making excuses. When I complained again, he said that he really wanted me to be satisfied. I said that I would need to get someone in to re-level the pool and reinstall the liner. I had paid him $1600 for the installation. I said why do not you give me halfback. He said he would give me $500. I said fine. Again, weeks went by and no check. He kept making up excuses. It has now been 3 months and I still have no check and my pool looks horrible. If this story sounds unbelievable, just text me and I will send you the baloney lying texts from Frank.
Not only did this contractor never show up on time but also expanded the cost of the project continually. I had 1 project with him where he provided a proposal so he stuck to that budget. The second project he never provided a proposal for and then ended up miraculously inflating the cost to $16,000. After being paid the original $10k and being told it would take some time to come up with the rest I was met with calls or texts multiple times every day until he finally resorted to calling from a blocked phone number. Threatened to file a mechanics lien. I would rate his work as poor at best. Timeliness non-existent. Collection efforts equivalent to harassment. If you happen to listen to some of the other reviews make him put EVERYTHING in writing.
Interacts well with customers. Dependable. Good job.
The work was good.
I would recommend them.
