I've used Hi-Topp for multiple projects including a concrete pad, new roof, vinyl siding install and installing new windows. They have always been very reasonable and their work has stood up over time. The siding was installed over 8 years ago with no issues. I later hired a friend other than Hi-Topp to do the soffit, facia and gutters. Both the soffit and gutters have needed repair from not being securely installed. I would highly recommend them to others.

We had damage from a recent wind storm to our front fascia. Hi-Topp came out the next morning at the time we had scheduled and had the job completed in less than a half hour! Very efficient and reasonable!

I liked them. They were friendly and personable. So, when I got home after the work was completed, and had to clean up the garbage they left in my yard, I let it slide. I was just happy the roof was fixed and it looked ok. I paid extra to have the guy walk around with a leaf blower and make sure all the shingles were secured. My neighbor said he saw him do this. He also said for that extra $75 he would give me a one year warranty. Well today when the shingles blew off, he would not honor that warranty. He said it did not cover the wind blowing the shingles off. I asked what it covered, he said, "my work which obviously was good because they stayed on through September, hell they stayed on through most of the winter." I have no idea what the significance of September was. He did the job on June 25th. I still have 4 months left on my warranty, but he will not honor it. He began to berate me and tell me "I'm one of those kind of people." He explained that one to be "one of those kind of guys who is always trying to stick it to someone. When I told him I would let his decision to not honor his warranty reflect in a review, he became even more irate and told me people liked his work and he had good reviews. The unprofessional paperwork just has "1yr warranty" hand written on it, but even the business name is handwritten on the "Contractor's Invoice" I would have even paid for the shingles. I just wanted him to honor the warranty as I understood it. I would expect him to respond to this review to share his side of the story. And that is fine. I would also like a further explanation of what good a warranty is for if it doesn't cover your shingles getting blown off. You cannot say tat it does not cover them coming off if winds reach a certain speed because what if winds reach a certain speed but they come off three months later on a day there is no wind? So if winds reach a certain speed the warranty is now void forever? That's not much of a warranty. Perhaps you should write out what your warranty covers and what it is good for instead of just handwriting it on your invoice. I know it stinks to do work for free, but had he just fixed it, I would have called him back after June 25th to fix it the next time they blow off. And I would have said, "I got a guy" every time someone asked for a roofer. Instead, now I am looking for a new roofer. I admit I live in a wind tunnel, but that just means a roofer and I could have a long relationship. I was actually going to ask for an estimate for a new roof but we didn't get that far. He'll have his side of the story, and that is fine. This is my side of the story and I thought I would share it so you had the information to make an informed decision.
