BEWARE: Robert Gray failed to complete my deck project requirements. He left my deck half stained, improperly replaced a screen door, left trash and supplies laying around, and refused to respond to my attempts to contact him.

Wow! All 5 star reviews and Robert showed me pictures of work he had done. I was so excited to finally get my deck replaced. He talked a good game but his workmanship left a lot to be desired. I have an unsafe deck and the work was substandard, I have deck boards that are split, boards with dead knots, boards not nailed down and nails that aren't nailed in to anything. There are gaps in the wood (more than the 3/8" allowed by SC code). Instead of staggering boards, I have a few sections of small pieces cut to fit. The rails are not flat and a few sections are not secure. We saw sections of the rails that nails are protruding out. Not a 5 star job, more like a -5 job. I stopped payment on the balance which got Robert back and he worked on some issues and I stupidly paid him. As he was leaving, I had to call him back to nail down 4 boards that he had replaced, We texted him 2x a week apart with pictures which he ignored. BEWARE! I have an unusable unsafe deck and I am out a chunk of money. He really took advantage - no way is he a 5 star contractor. I have plenty of pictures of the poor workmanship which I'll gladly share if needed, Never again will I use Angi or Home Advisor for recommendations. They do not protect the consumer at all. BUYER BEWARE!

Robert beautifully built my fully covered porch in just 2 days. Extremely quick build with unbelievable customer service, answering my wife's and I's questions and concerns quickly. He was faster, and cheaper than anyone else quoted me. I highly recommend Mr. Gray's quality of work to anyone needing services in their area.
