Write a ReviewAt best, amateur work. I had this company remove flaking concrete off exposed foundation walls and replace it. The replaced concrete "parge" looked like people with no training or experience did the work. Worse, they left my yard a mess! They did not clean up after themselves and left buckets, bags of concrete, and tools on our lawn. I found one bucket in the middle of a plant. The crew did not put down paper of plastic on our brick walk so it's stained with drops of cement solution. I bought some CLR to try to dissolve them. I loaned a worker a small shovel to make it easier to remove dirt along the wall. He returned it, but didn't have the courtesy to clean dirt off it. The workers didn't even clean their own tools. One morning I saw them chipping hardened concrete off trowels and an edger. We also had this group pour a 4-ft by 6-ft slab for our trash and recycle bins. The surface looks nothing like I seen before on sidewalks or other freshly set concrete.
I hired Grant North Masonry for a fireplace stone install, requesting the mortar match or be lighter than the stone?clearly documented in the bid. Grant assured me multiple times this would be no problem and that he ?had a guy who could custom-mix the mortar.?On installation day, Grant told me it would dry ?a couple shades lighter.? Instead, it dried much darker. When I raised the issue with photos, he falsely claimed I had agreed to match the scratch coat, which was never discussed or approved. My husband later spoke with him, and Grant admitted he knew the color wasn?t right when he said ?that?s the color it comes out of the bag? and that it would have cost him more to buy something else. Despite this, he hasn?t taken responsibility and or offered to fix it. His only solution is for us to look into a mortar stain so we can fix it ourselves. I?m disappointed and cannot recommend Grant North Masonry due to the lack of accountability and integrity of work.
We found Grant and his son to be excellent to work with . Grant replied promptly to our inquiry and did the work requested as soon as was possible. It needed to be above freezing for him to rebuild our brick mailbox pillar that was demolished by a neighborhood landscape truck by accident. His attention to detail was impressive. We found him to be kind, knowledgeable , and pleasant.
Very friendly family oriented company. They did great work and the value of there is awesome! I would recommend to anyone needing any type of masonry repair work done.
They were fast, friendly, and the cost stayed within the original bid for the work.
They were easy to work with and worked around weather problems.
Grant came to give the bid when he promised. He has been doing this for over 30 years. He knows what he is talking about. His bid was fair. Our wall had been damaged when a large tree was removed. Scope: save as many of the decorative block as possible, marry the "new" into the "old", leave little mess. Wow! All three goals were achieved. The wall looks great. The clean-up was wonderful. You would never know there had been any work done. Grant has a wonderful crew who are kind and courteous and respectful of your property!
Very professional experience. Quality work.
