Galavez Contracting

I hired this company based on reviews and was greatly disappointed. The crew showed up unprepared and clueless as to what they were supposed to do. To make matters worse, they did not speak English so it was difficult to communicate. The work was done very sloppy and they were careless with their work. They got paint on my red brick house, did not sand surfaces to be painted. They even used my personal equipment (ladder, 5-gallon bucket, scraper) because they did not come with their own. I do not recommend this company. Hire with caution.

Irving Galavez was fantastic to work with. I am new to Jacksonville and I was worried that I would need to hire from a larger firm to get the quality and trust in getting a job done right---but once I talked to Irving on the phone, I knew he would do a good job. Hid company did a great job! Clear estimate, explained well, prompt service, no surprises on the final bill, interior painting of walls and trim for 4 rooms and hallway was high quality, no mess, nice respectful employees. I am a single woman and I felt very safe and at ease with the crew when I came by. I plan to use them again for cabinetry next. I recommend them highly. If you are looking for quality work, good value at subcontractor fees (no upcharge from your GC), and hard working honest trustworthy people, Galavez Contracting Inc is the contractor to call.
