Write a ReviewDo not hire Fort Worth A/C to do any A/C repair or maintenance for you or you will be financially gouged. Yesterday he put 3 lbs. common refrigerant (410A) into my A/C unit, which costs him $20/lb. bulk, but he charged me $160/lb. (basically overcharging me $420). When I asked for an estimate before he began, he said it was $89 for the service call (which I considered reasonable). When I asked how much for the refrigerant, he said he charged $160/lb. When I told him that sounded high, he said some charge $125 and some $100, but that he charged $160; then quickly added that if it only needed 12 ounces, he would not charge me for the full pound, but only the 12 ounces. So, that made it seem to me like we were talking in terms of ounces needed, not pounds. When he finished, he told me it was 3 lbs. and charged me accordingly, and I ended up having to pay a bill over $500. I had previously researched online to see what the typical cost was to add modern refrigerant (i.e., not Freon), and learned that the cost was typically between $150 and $200 for the entire job (which I was ready to pay). I called him after I found out the real cost of the 410A refrigerant, and told him that I thought an 8-fold mark-up on the cost of the refrigerant was wrong, and asked for some reimbursement, but he would not agree.
Fort Worth Air Conditioning Company did an excellent job. I was very pleased with there work. This is a company that cares about the quality there work, and they stay as long as need be to get project done,
