How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because I am an technician first and am able to pinpoint issues that most salesman look past, not because they dont care, but because they simply dont know. I have been in the industry for 5 years now and have been able to help many people, not only save money, but save their health. I have found several cases of duct work chewed, electrical chewed, water lines, etc.. these effect your home and cause major damage and health risks. Also, rodents themselves carry diseases and we dont need babies, children, or anyone breathing these harmful bacterias. I am also EPA, CPO, WDO, R410a, and CAMT certified and have located many other concerns regaurding HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Roof, and other issues. Be it, mold in ductwork, plumbing lines leaking via rodents chewing and causing mold and mildew, to electrical chewed to potential fires..

Gave a deposit of $1350.00 to Owner Jesse for Insulation to be installed after rodent removal. They told me to get someone else to finish the job they never solved the issue with the rodent. Hired another contractor that solved the problem. I requested my Insulation deposit back owner Jesse promised to repay in text to me then never paid. Taking them to court.

Jess and Rusty just completed a job for us. We had squirrels that set up house in one level of the attic and water rats in another level. They came out and explained what the problems were along with pictures of the various issues, one of which it looked like the squirrel was posing behind some chewed wiring. Rusty came out and set one way exits and live traps and closed off multiple entry areas. He came out several times a week for several weeks until we were confident there were no more unwanted guests. They arranged for removal and replacement of the insulation. They also provided a three year warranty, which is pretty much unheard of. I had one company who would not even work on a barrel tile roof and another that was a no show for a quote. I love that they are a local company and I have every confidence that if I have any further issues, they will be there to handle it. They both have extensive work experience in many areas and I feel they are very trustworthy.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
