Environmental Balance is a full- service family-owned and operated HVAC contractor with a staff of over 25 years experience in complete HVAC service from central heating and air conditioning system installations to service for all brands, makes, and models, including American Standard, Carrier, Rheem, Bryant, Goodman, Ruud, Amana, Heil, WeilMclain, Crown, Utica and more. Serving commercial and residental customers. We specialize in boiler systems, oil units, custom duct work, in floor heating, ductless air conditioning and forced air products (traditional heating & cooling systems). We customize all of our installations from the sizing of the unit to duct work. Duct work that is installed improperly can cost you up to 30% on your heating and cooling costs. We understand the importance of a properly installed HVAC system. The equipment is only part of the project; the real value is in the installation. We take pride in what we do and respect your investment and the environment. It is our goal to provide you with excellent customer service, a professional well trained staff and to keep you comfortable and healthy inside your home as well as provide you with information on how to lower your energy costs and help conserve energy. In addition to our Grafton location, we have locations in West Bend and Milwaukee. Install a Central Air Conditioning System

We agreed the unit and hook-up box would be positioned in certain place for aesthetic reasons, and then they went ahead and installed it exactly where we asked them not to. The unit and cost was a great deal but they did not follow instructions and it would look worse to remove and remount in the place we wanted it...so we are stuck with it they way it is. We are happy with the AC but annoyed that directions were not followed.

Melanie, who was my contact person at Environmental Blance was exceptional with getting back to me with the questions I had. The workers who arrived at the home were right on time and were great with explaining what they were doing and showing us what was being done, how and why. They were very friendly and completely competent. I work for a Real Estate Co. And we frequently need to refer people to contractors. I will be getting their name out to our clients, as well as using them for any further furnace or A/c needs we may have.

Repair or Service Furnace or Forced Air Heating System

Very professional service with a "family-run" atmosphere. Customer oriented. Answered all questions. Explained all options and made recommendations. Decided to purchase new furnace and have them install it. They then even personally came to my house to bring application for financing. Very helpful. Did an excellent job installing, and completely cleaned up and hauled off old furnace. New furnace works perfectly. HIGHLY recommend this company.

Well we started out not so good, They did not show up the day the day we took off of work for the estimate. Then they said the furnace was'nt in, but then came in when we said we would go with someone else. Then the day of, they could'nt finish the job,the electrician could'nt make it. They did'nt do a good job of patching the holes in the basement wall on the first day. My husband called and complained,and they did come back and did a very nice job fixing the wall. The electrician still has'nt come.All in all these are very nice people,who did end up doing a very good job.I think they are overbooked or something this time of year.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the state in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Businesses will not be admitted to the network if their owners or principals have the following felonies in their available criminal records*:

Arson

Assault/domestic violence/battery

Child abuse

Intimidation/terrorist threats

Kidnapping/abduction

Lewd and lascivious behavior

Manslaughter/murder/homicide/vehicular homicide

Rape/incest

Robbery/carjacking

Sex offenses

Other felonies not listed above that occurred in the past seven years

Contracting without a license in the past seven years

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened biennially.

How is COVID-19 impacting the HomeAdvisor background check program?

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, several government agencies and courts across the country have temporarily closed their offices. While HomeAdvisor will continue its background check program to the extent possible, these closures could prevent some background checks from being performed. Please be advised that, during this period, if we could not perform a background check, HomeAdvisor will allow the business into the network and match the business to consumers. As affected government agencies and courts begin to re-open, we will resume our program in those jurisdictions. Licensing

We verify any applicable state-level licenses, and we require every business to attest that they carry the appropriate local licensing to practice their trade. Please note that HomeAdvisor does not confirm local licensing. Do your own research using online ratings, reviews and through phone interviews before hiring a company.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
