A great experience! Mike Duval reviewed my concerns about a recent leak and past house settling and looked over our house. I wanted to make sure what we had previously assumed was mild long-term settling was not something more serious in light of some recent findings. Mike was very thorough and reassuring in his explanations of his findings that our structure was stable - he explained that we really did not need anything done for the type of settling we had. We were very happy to hear this, and happy we had him take a look as his fee was very reasonable for peace of mind. He even gave us some tips on some other questions we had in regards to water drainage outside our house.

Sorry it took so long to write this review, but Mike was great. He used a floor plan I created and engineered our vacation home that came out beautifully. The house is a couple years old now, no problems that I know of, so I would definitely hire him again.

Mike Duval was very professional, thorough, and pleasant to work with! I hired him to draw up plans for a wraparound deck with a handicap ramp and several other elements. I was having difficulty providing a general layout that incorporated everything due to the slope of the property, the width of the driveway, and ideas for a future garage. Mike provided a mock up from which we shared ideas. I was really expecting that I wouldn’t be able to reasonably incorporate everything, but in the end, he provided plans that not only incorporates all the elements, it also looks great, flows well, and is in the ballpark of how much I expected the deck to cost. The plans appear to be very thorough and meet all codes. If I am able to add the garage someday, I will definitely be hiring Mike to draw up the plans.

Mike Duval of Engineering Services PLLC really knows his stuff. I was extremely worried about the stability of our 1840's "country-house" in New Paltz … most specifically, the weight-bearing walls. Mike immediately spotted the problem areas, which to my great relief were not as ominous as I was expecting. He made several suggestions for how we could resolve the problems, ranging from those that would be more esthetically pleasing to those that would be sound and functional but more economical. Within a week he sent the assessment and report which was easy to read and understand. We can now have peace of mind and fix our problem areas. My husband and I were extremely pleased with the services we received from Mike and will most certainly call on him again in the future if needed.

Mike has been responsive and very easy to work with. Highly recommended.

Mike was responsive and the assessment was thorough and reasonably priced. I did ask for the names of professionals to consult for further work, which he said he would include, but the names were not included in the evaluation package.
