Write a ReviewHired Energy Nerds to reinsulate our attic after having condensation problems. They guaranteed they could fix the condensation problem by removing all of the old, wet insulation and reinsulating the entire attic. Also promised to seal air penetrations around can lights and other openings. They "sold" us on including a blanket barrier that helps with the insulation. The blankets were thrown and installed haphazardly throughout the attic and did little to help solve any problem. A vaulted ceiling in the attic was never properly insulated as they said it would be. There was little insulation installed above the attic despite indicating they would insulate this to the same level as the remainder of the house since it was a heated garage. Kayden from their company came out after the fact when we started having condensation problems again. He blamed it on poor venting, not on their insulation job. Why was this not noticed earlier??? Kayden ultimately washed his hands of the project and left us hanging. Overall, what they did was a joke that cost us about $18,000. Shame on us for putting trust into their sales pitch. I am now in the process of having to get the work done correctly to the tune of another $15,000. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone having insulation issues.
Hi Kevin, When Kaden came out last, we thought it was understood that the spray foam over the soffits was a serious issue and that you were going to contact the folks who constructed the home. Please call us and we will do all we can to help. The insulation and blanket are proven to help insulate but if ventilation is impaired as it sounds it is with spray foam over soffits, then that has to be addressed. We do not recommend ever covering a soffit with anything. We look forward to continuing to help out.
Kayden was very prompt and professional. His work was very high quality and a great value for the money.
They did a great job and were very respectful of our home while they were working.
Prompt, thorough service, great communication throughout. Removed wet, damaged insulation due to roof leaks following derecho damage & poor roof repairs. Mitigated mold. Filled gaps, replaced insulation, installed proper vents on roof to improve circulation & prevent future humidity & mold between layers. The air temp and humidity in our house is amazingly stable now. So much more comfortable. The air conditioner no longer runs constantly and the upstairs corner closets donâ t accumulate excess heat from the roof. Impressed to find hard-working labor who know what theyâ re doing.
Initially, the customer service was great and we both came to an agreeable path forward to address my attic needs including removal/install of eco fill insulation, exhaust fan ducts, air sealing, and HVAC Wrap Aeroshield. I was not very comfortable with the price but moved forward anyway and the rep did a great job of selling me on how everything will be addressed when they are done. At first, we thought that everything was great. I placed a temp/humidity sensor up in the attic just to make sure we were good up there. Unfortunately, humidity kept rising to an unsuitable level (70%-80%) whenever the heat was on. After further inspection, the HVAC Wraps were not done with the above job and it looks as though there was an attempt to just cover all of the ducting and plenum with blown-in insulation. We also noticed the soffits were covered with blown-in. we had to address this with a roofing contractor which was an additional $2k expense on top of the $6k job above. Needless to say, we still have HVAC insulation issue that I am sure we will need to address before summer hits. Sent email with no response.
Ryan and Kayden were polite and professional. They did good work and answered my questions.
The Energy Nerds were outstanding. From estimate to completion of the project, they were professional. Kept us informed on all aspects of the project with explanation and pictures. Did an excellent job with clean up. I highly recommend them.
Ryan and Kaden worked well together very nice very polite - did an excellent job took photos of finished attic to show me they cleaned up when done highly recommended this company and this team
Fast, efficient and a great value. These professionals really know what they are doing. David set up the project and picked in when needed. Ryan ran the project and was smart, energetic and a great communicator. I would recommend this team without reservation.
Our team Ryan & Kayden were very punctual and professional. Very thoughtful and kind demeanors. They vacuumed the back entry and garage when they were done and were very polite. They also took before and after pictures for us! Looks great! With energy prices increasing and supplies of insulation slowing I would recommend you hire this company as soon as possible! Worth every penny!
