He was hired to do a number of things, one of which was install a light unit on the bottom of a fan. I purchased the unit. He and two others came out to do the job. His two helpers spent 4 hours trying to get the unit to work. They could get the light to work or the fan to work, not both. He promised to come back the next day. He said he was on his way, but never showed up. He came back and said he had to fire his two employees. He came back one more time and could not get it to work. He said he would be out at 8:30 a.m. Later he texted he would be out at 10:00 a.m. One week after the project began I sent a text asking if he was coming back. He sent the following text. Sir no disrespect but you must think I am a dumb black man or a black man because I asked you did you want me too grab the stuff last time you said you got now you grubbed the wrong pieces and want me to spend my money, No way. When you grab it I will come but I am not buying nothing that is your job to provide that found. If you do not trust black people that is you and your issue I can tell you do not like me and I do not care I did my job you got trust issues I am not obligated you already made me spend money on the stuff I brought last time like your recliner needed wood. I had to buy a whole footage of wood and no one payed me for that. His quote for fixing the recliner foot rest said $95.00. Nowhere did his quote say anything about plus materials. I told him I had the switch, and sent him a photo of it, asking if I had chosen the correct one. I asked him to come and he said he would be there by 8:30. Later he texted 10:00. We stayed home, which was the third time we had to stay home waiting for him. He sent me another text stating his IQ was 132, strong Republican, and God plan. He texted me again his wife was coming back from the airport and he would be there at 3:00. He never showed. The next morning I contacted a local electrician, and he came and fixed the problem for $200. When he had completed repairs on the smaller items, he requested his money. His quote was for $522.00. $250 of that was for the lighting/fan work. I was going to give him $400 cash and hold the rest for completion of the job. He reassured me he would be back to take care of it. He never did. I ended up paying twice for the same work. If I had an employee that was like this, he would no longer be an employee. I became very obvious to me, only too late, he was not qualified as an electrician. While here he listened to a few videos and called someone multiple times to ask what wire would go with what wire. When his two assistants were here working, they were using black electricians tape instead of wire ties. Once the outlet sparked. This is not the kind of laborer I want working in my house. I would like to know what is going to do about this. I presume you vent your vendors. His quote to me was on a pad showing invoice #00001. When he came out for the quote he brought someone else with him that determined what prices should be. I am ashamed to say that should have been a warning to me to not use this individual. Do not worry, I will not look to in the future. I do not want my house burned down by incompetents and receive verbal abuse from a service person.

Response from Company:

wow, it is amazing how much people lie about black individuals that own their own businesses you have issues not only with me but you are also a liar because if I quoted someone it always has plus materials altogether. listen sorry that you grabbed the wrong pieces from the beginning without calling me to ask or at least letting me grab it like I grabbed the wood for the recliner for you so why not let me grab the other things you needed I know what I need for the job I am going to do. but this guy you can tell had issues with me from the beginning racism is really real I did not go back because that is more labor plus he was being negative I was already.
