this guy tried to build something in his backyard without a permit got caught. I tried to help him out. I knocked $1,000 off the price and he was really pushing the amount of time do it. at this point we are two weeks into this job. what he does not understand is that I have responsibilities to the people who have concluded business with me; I have to respond to remarks from the building department through permitting. this happens all the time. I am going to finish these plans in the next two days and deliver them to him. what he does with them on this is his business. That will put me a little over 2-weeks to completion.

Bill is absolutely right, Bill hasn't received much because I had a lot of it done before my first meeting. Bill initially wasn't in any big rush. I wish I had handled this job a little better. But when you deal with people who are busy, it pays to be the squeaky wheel. In our business you usually know who's in a rush, because they are on the phone all the time. I have done drawings on his property, I just have to put it all together. My apologies Bill.

Unfortunately, for whatever reason, this client decided not to build the addition and wants her money back. You decide what a person's time is worth. I've been asked to stop work, and that's what I have done. If for some reason in the future they'd like to finish the project, I am more than willing to do that, as long as I'm paid the balance of the agreement.
