I am very displeased with my service from Maria Gore at Decorating Den. Not only did I feel Maria was incapable of capturing my vision, she made several mistakes with color and instillation. Custom items were ordered without my actually seeing a picture of the fabric, she indicated certain paint colors would work just fine because "gray is neutral and goes with anything" --WRONG!! It was the people at sherwin Williams to helps work out my paint issue. It cost money to re due that mistake. Further, she does not know how to install. I had to fill holes and repaint from a botched picture instillation. However, the thing that bothers me the most is that when I pointed out that the custom pillow were not the color I requested, she said she sent me a picture through our email correspondence. This is a lie. She knows she did not do this and I know she did not do this. Instead of owning up that she ordered custom pillows without me actually seeing the fabric, she is being disingenuous. My experience working with a decorator has left a bad taste in my mouth; especially for Decorating Den. I am not sure how they decide who can be consultants, but I expected a professional and was highly disappointed. I feel taken advantage of by Maria Gore at Decorating Den.

Response from Company:

I appreciate the opportunity to reply to this post and set the record straight. This seemed to be a very insecure and angry customer, in general, when not in control. By her own admission, (Customer's name withheld per request)found it difficult to find designers who seemed to want to work with her. I discussed with her in detail ideas for her downstairs living space, including wall color that would flow harmoniously from room to room. We selected a neutral gray from the Neutral Color Collection Guide from Sherwin Williams who obviously thinks these are fantastic picks or they would not publish it. I did tell (Customer's name withheld per request)since gray was a neutral tone it was versatile and should work well with any color scheme. She verbally indicated that she loved the color. Of course, (Customer's name withheld per request)has a right to change her mind, however, I am not accountable for her decisions. Since she has selective hearing she projects her own thoughts into what other say. I experienced this from her on more than one occasion. Therefore, we can't know what the Sherwin Williams store actually said to her. To hang a print that was ordered for(Customer's name withheld per request), only one small hole on each end where the hangers were placed was made. It is false that there were holes left that needed repairs and repaint. Every effort was made to accommodate this customer. After our initial design decisions(Customer's name withheld per request)continued to shop and changed her mind about products. Several items she stated she wanted, she later decided not to order. There were also items that were ordered that she requested be cancelled after the cancellation transaction date, that I processed for her anyway. She wanted colors for pillows based on her own existing print that SHE called "light pink" and "dark pink." That was the color I used when selecting the pillow fabric. Decorating Den Interiors provides excellent training and I have successfully completed all course requirements to become a Decorating Den decorator. The company announced last year end sales enabled the company to achieve $1 billion in cumulative yearly sales. This achievement is a testimony to our business systems and training programs. Decorating Den Interiors was founded in 1969 and has always prided itself on offering excellent customer service. There was a mistake with a valance that was reordered and corrected with no additional cost to (Customer's name withheld per request) We have access to thousands of samples of designer window treatments, wall and floor coverings, furniture, lighting and accessories, all brought directly to each client's home or office. Our work is regularly featured in interior decorating magazines, journals and books. It is a pity that this project cannot be considered for such an honor. Working with (Customer's name withheld per request) was not the joy it should have been and it is regr

I told Maria I didn't want yellow toned paint and the colors she pick for me had yellow tones when we went to pick up the paint. Very disappointing. I really should receive my 90.00 or at least half back.

Response from Company:

I appreciate your letting me know you decided you did not like the paint colors we selected for your home. I am willing to meet with you, free of charge, to revisit your color scheme and assist you in selecting colors you will like. Sincerely, Maria
