Donna Mudd established Daydreams/Interior Specialties in 1990 with one simple goal, to make the decorating process as enjoyable as possible. Kirby Pierce joined Daydreams in 1999. Together, they approach every project from an artist�s point of view � incorporating each item into a pleasing whole ensuring exceptional workmanship and design. Daydreams provides in-home consultation, complete installation, interior color coordinating, and floor planning. The Daydreams Team: Donna Mudd studied interior design, fashion design, and art at Virginia Commonwealth University. Before going into interior decorating, Donna was one-half of DM/AD Designs. Her company designed and manufactured handpainted sportswear sold throughout the United States. DM/AD existed from 1976 to 1982. The creative aspects and business experience prepared the way for Daydreams. As an artist Donna has painted home renderings and animal portraits on fabric, and she has sold numerous pieces of her painted furniture. Donna also designed and illustrated the Daydreams logo, which was inspired by an antique bookplate. Decorating is a culmination of her interests, talents, and education. Kirby Pierce is Donna�s daughter and a graduate of Longwood College. As an elementary education major her creative talents were discovered and developed. While teaching Kirby also studied Interior Decorating. Her creative abilities and outgoing personality have made decorating a rewarding experience for her and her clientele. Publications: Daydreams� work has been visible in numerous house tours in the Richmond area over the years. A Richmond home, Edgefield, was featured in the March 2002 issue of Richmond Magazine. Furthermore, the Historic House and Garden Tour guidebook for the state recognized Daydreams for the �inventive and finely crafted window treatments throughout the house�. We did all the soft furnishings, provided many of the accessories, and assisted in furniture purchases and placement for this home. Our child�s playroom in the 2002 Richmond Symphony Designer Showhouse was featured in Better Homes and Gardens and Chesapeake Home magazines. This room was praised for it�s imaginative flair and use of color. In 2003, Daydreams was asked to do another child�s playroom for the National Symphony Orchestra Showhouse in Washington, DC. This time our room featured a musical and theatrical theme. Again we were fortunate enough to receive national attention. Our room was filmed for an episode of the PBS show Find! and was photographed for an issue of Paint D�cor magazine. Daydreams has also been featured in articles in The Richmond Times Dispatch and Style Magazine.
