Reviews
Write a ReviewTruly professionals. They built a Dog Park for us on budget, on time. Gerry was a pleasure dealing with⠦⠦..Great customer service.. The dogs love CFR
Custom Fence and Rail was lovely to work with. They were communicative and professional and stuck to the timeline they promised us. They removed an old chain link fence and replaced it with a wood fence around the perimeter of our backyard, including three gates. Now our new home has a beautiful wood privacy fence, and we're so grateful. 100% Recommend Custom Fence and Rail.
Gerry was prompt and very helpful in getting my fence repaired and back up to code. He gave me a firm, professional quote and proceeded quickly after I agreed to hire him. The job was completed in a timely manner and he did a great job on clean up, as well. I was also pleased that he responded quickly after I had a latch issue. Gerry got it figured out and it has worked perfect since. Very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend giving him a call.
Communication throughout the whole process, from pricing to installation, was clear and transparent. I received constant updates regarding the project from the owner, Gerry. The work itself was performed well with excellent quality and detail. If you are looking for a competitively-priced and high-quality fence replacement company, talk with this group!
Timely, excellent work
Very professional from start to finish: from initial planning through construction and cleanup. Communications were outstanding and the crew were exceptionally gifted and knew /cared about the install of over 500 lineal feet of 2 and 3 split rail. Costs were significantly lower than 6 other bids by big and small firms.
The crew was supposed to be there on Tuesday, showed up for a couple hours on Thursday, took down our fence, showed up for a couple hours on Friday and placed the posts using minimal, watered down cement in each hole, then packed up the 10 other bags designated for our project and took it with them, along with all of their tools. Countless phone calls, and a new crew of 2 shows up seven days later, many hours later two guys reappear from the first crew. In the meantime, the gate post fell completely over still attached to its cement and another split top to bottom. I went through the materials left for the job and found that 80% of them were visibly damaged and substandard for what was bid. Despite pictures, visible inspection of the old fence, and many discussions, Gerry and his team completely disregarded my instructions to rebuild exactly as was, and to put the "beauty side" on my disagreeable neighbor's side. Once they showed up the following Friday they "finished" a 108 foot picket fence in a single day, with only two guys working the entire day. I should have known there's no way it would be a quality installation. On inspection this is what the problems were: -Seven days with no fence (I have a dog). -Even though I pointed it out in advance, warped, damaged, reused and low-quality materials were used causing weakness and a rippled effect across the entire fence- so center cross supports were necessary. Bevels were routed into the posts, a half inch thinner than the old ones and crooked. Numerable boards could've had the bad side turned in to hide damage, but in every case they faced it out so we could see it. -Minimal or no cement in the post holes, causing a fence that is crooked, not structurally sound, unlevel, tipped and zig-zagged top caps. There was no cement at all around the post that attaches to our gate and one other post. - They left large cement chunks and mud piles all over the yard. They trampled a small retaining wall I had to rebuild. -The crooked top rail made of reused and damaged wood was offset to our side of the property so there was a 1 inch visible gap on neighbors. They put a bottom rail on its side that shouldn't have been there and didn't even bother to match it up to the same height as his front fence. They used 2x4's instead of two by sixes for the top fascia. - Large gap and no attachment to the HOA fence on the street, affecting the stability of the fence. - Only two hinges were used on our oversized gate. Ceasar, the original crew chief, said the project was under-bid and he was far underpaid, which was why he never returned after demolition. I had three other bids within a few hundred dollars. He told me they were instructed at the end to do the fence as quickly and with as little materials as possible- Which is what it looked like. This was a $4000 fence. He told me if we didn't put the cross bar in within two weeks the pickets would shrink and start gaping. After the snow and then suns
The client insisted on duplicating a poorly designed fence. I never construct a 6? 2 rail fence. But this is what she said she wanted: We have 105 feet of fencing and a 6 foot double gate. The top rails are 2 x 4's, under that are horizontal 2x6's, the post are 4 x 4 the pickets are 1 by 4 x 6. 6 foot premium cedar fencing that has to match what we have. We built it with some health related delays and when finished this was her text: Hey just had a chance to look at the fence, I think it looks great and I?m pretty sure my husband will agree. I?ll have him walk it when he gets home, but I am very pleased. Then issues came up not to pay.
derrick was extremely professional and easy to deal with. the work was done quickly and very well done.
