Write a ReviewWe've waited 10 years to start on this awaited outdoor kitchen project. My husband and I are so picky/meticulous about wirk dome in our house. After seeing the kind of work that Colony Buolders had done with friends we are excited to let the company do the work. From the very first encounter with Mr.Ali and Mike the project supervisor everyone in that company had done a great job with no issues or problem. We are so satisfied thst we are thinking of having them for the next project .They have a dependable skillful workers and even very detailed oriented. Love the experience with the company.Absolutely a 5/5 review.
They did a great job building our edition at a fair price!
Timely, courteous people.
If I could rate them lower, I would. I had them install drop-down screens on my patio. The project started about April or May of 2019 and did not finish up until September or October of the same year. The salesman was nice as could be until I signed on the dotted line. Told me to call him if I needed anything. When it was taking them so long, I called him and he got an attitude asking me **why was I calling him and what did I want him to do**. They have one guy who works for them named Gus who is a pathological liar. He was always on another job. Finally, when I said I was canceling, I spoke to the owners, who said it was a delay overseas and from the company that sells the product. Then, the guy Gus had the audacity to get sort of threatening, all because I would not sign off on the project until he removed all of the junk off of my porch. Mind you, they also left whatever materials that did come in on my porch for almost the entire time I was waiting for completion. He started telling me he had a sick child and that he needed the money. But, he also had more flats and car trouble than I can name. For reasons why he would no show or show 2 hours late. But, one time, I guess he was telling the truth about truck trouble! As he left a huge oil spot in the driveway of my brand new home. Though the owners talk nice, they would not budge on taking any percentage off for my troubles because it was not their fault. I paid over $20,000 for these things to never work. They are always coming off track. Then they want to say that it is because it is windy where I live, although I asked the salesman what was the limit on winds and he said about 60 mph and that I should have no problem. Gus did not know wind speed at all when I asked him. I live in a residential neighborhood in south Houston... not on the water. They have some wind sensors that I requested for purchase and they always say they will get back to me. They never have and I do not think it will help because you have to let them up before it gets windy... and there seems to be a problem even with a light breeze. I just finished paying for them and they have had to come out a few times to fix them and they are currently broken. I spent about 20,000 on this garbage. There was a new guy that really made them come out and fix them last time. He is honest and very professional. As usual, Gus is unavailable. On vacation or off to a family reunion for two weeks, then, who knows when I would get them taken care of. One guy to put these screens in and repair them... REALLY?! And when are they going to learn that no one cares about his vacation, family reunion, or the other excuses, whether truth or lies, and mostly lies. You just want to get what you paid for. Buyer BEWARE!
Colony Builders are the best in the business! Our house was impacted by the Watson Grinding Explosion and the damages were severe as we are located 800 feet away. We had blown out windows structural damage, collapsing ceilings, etc. Once we decided to hire Colony Builders they started the next week! We did a complete remodel, replacing the entire house with siding, all the windows, all the carpet with laminate including our staircase, our deck & fence in the back yard and tore down our two door garage to make one large automatic one. The crews that came out we're hardworking and communicated with us every step of the way. Our repairs began on April 16th and finished within 2 short months on June 2nd!!! A complete remodel and they worked diligently to get us back to our house as soon as possible. Long story short HIRE THEM! You'll be so happy with the end result. I know if we need anything in the future this company will be our go to.
I am an Engineer at NASA and selected windows from Colony Builders over several other window companies based on Quality and Pricing. I signed an order for 14 windows for the front of my home on July 11, 2019, and it was 7 months later on January 25, 2020, that all the windows were finally installed. From the time I ordered the windows in July, it took nearly 4 months for them to start the window installation. Unfortunately, two of the windows were the wrong size. It took another 2 months to get those windows corrected only to find out the windows had hatching installed instead of being clear window panes. These problems were finally corrected and the windows install in January 2020. The quality of the windows and the installation is excellent if you have the patience to wait several months for the installation. Because of the lengthy installation time and because the owner offered no discount for the wait, I would not recommend using them.
The crews were polite and they answered all the questions that I had. Also, they cleaned up at the end of every working day which is good for safety purposes. They came back to finish and corrected some minor issues that I pointed out during the final inspection. I have to praise their attitude. However, due to the rain, the project took a longer time to finish which was more than I expected.

The crews worked consistently when on the job, they were polite, and they cleaned up at the end of each work day. The job was completed in a timely manner. My husband and I are pleased with the work they did.
