Reviews
Write a ReviewSteve in great; providing all the information you need and answering any questions you have. He helped me through the permit process as well.
Overall, Iâ m very pleased with their price, workmanship and professionalism.
Stephen took the time to properly scope our job and ensure that all was on track with town requirements and permitting. Work was done on schedule and on budget and we were impressed with the teamwork and craftsmanship of his crew. Our driveway required both pervious and impervious concrete as well as tying into existing concrete. It all came together beautifully!
We had an old concrete slab removed and a new one poured under our cottage at the beach which included installing rebar around all the new pilings. Stephen and his crew were some of the most professional people we have met and made our current project become enjoyable again. We hired Cape Fear Concrete after we had to let go of our general contractor which put us in a situation that we would need to contract jobs out ourselves. Stephen explained every step of the process and was always quick in response to any questions we had. He and his crew went above and beyond any expectations we had, were courteous, friendly, and easy to work with. The crew was so polite and it was evident that enjoy their job. We HIGHLY recommend them for any of your concrete needs!!!!
Stephen lied stating it was a family business he said he had a full crew in fact he subcontracted to a company from Raleigh NC. Also during the estimate he quoted 14 cubic yards but ordered 15 cubic yards which was an additional cost to me. He stated in one area it was 5 inches thick when in fact I was present during the entire job which he was not and the crew that he used leveled the area to the 4 inches that was agreed. Stephen changed his story twice. This is a company that I will not trust or recommend to anyone, considering I got him from Angi I would not trust Angi for any future projects. Cape Fear Concrete Solutions just lost out on a $20,000 job! Stay away from this guy and his company
George, CFCS is a family owned company consisting only of myself, my wife and my dad. I do have a full crew that we have worked with for many years however they are subcontractors rather than employees. They are awesome and do great work! The use of subcontractors is a common practice among contractors everywhere and this is the arrangement that works best for us. ItÂ’s understandable to be upset with paying more than anticipated for your project but your change order of $225.00 was necessary to ensure you received the quality concrete pad we agreed to provide you, specifically that your pad would be no less than 4inches in thickness all the way across. In demoing your existing concrete to prep the site for your project, a substantial area of the existing concrete we removed was 7 inches in thickness. There was no way to foresee that this area was that thick as it was below ground. You were therefore quoted enough concrete for 4 inches so additional concrete was required to make up the difference for this area. As soon as we discovered this issue during demo I immediately pointed it out to you. We informed you of the need for additional concrete to fill that area as soon as we realized it was needed and you stated you understood and okayed the change. The possibility of this issue is also outlined in our contract which you signed. Upon completion of your project you informed me that you were happy with your concrete and when final payment was requested you then asked that I provide you with my invoices from the concrete company for your project. I happily provided these invoices to you as they reflected the 15 yards that were ordered for your project. While I wish that change orders were never necessary sometimes we have unforeseen issues that require an additional cost to ensure the integrity of the product provided is protected. I made the call to order an extra yard of concrete to ensure you got the product you contracted for, a high quality and long lasting concrete pad, and I stand by that decision whole heartedly. CFCS takes pride in its work from start to finish. I quote every job like I would do my own and we produce amazing concrete work. We want all of our customers to be happy with the customer service provided as well as the quality of their new concrete. I really hate hearing youÂ’re upset with CFCS and would like to offer you a refund in the amount you paid for the additional yard needed for your concrete pad.
I initially reached out for stamped concrete. After discussing my "vision" with the owner we settled on pavers. These pavers were placed on top of the existing concrete pad. I could not be MORE thrilled. The look is perfect and I am slightly obsessed. Stephen was very helpful through out the process. I'd give them 10 stars!!
Fast, efficient and professional. Exceptional results.
