We used Angi to find the company Burn Clean. The job was replacing our gas insert fireplace in our new home with a new insert. In our previous home, we had the exact same job done, it was done by one person, it took an hour and cost $120. Pete gave us a price of $650 and the cost of any fittings. Though I knew the price was outrageous I accepted because we had no luck finding anyone else. He and his partner took out the old insert in less than an hour and went to Loweâ s for 2 fittings. When they came back they said they needed a pipe (that had to be ordered ) because the gas line comes in our fireplace from the left but the intake on the new insert is on the right. We made arrangements for them to come back the Tuesday before Thanksgiving between 8 and 10. But before they left Pete said he needed $250. And then said they didnâ t take credit cards though I know now that the website says they do. They didnâ t show up on Tuesday and it took me a few phone calls to finally get to his partner. He said that they had received the wrong part and that he was pretty sure he could get the correct one by Wednesday and finish the job then because weâ d want it for our Thanksgiving company etc. Itâ s now the Sunday after Thanksgiving and we havenâ t heard from them though weâ ve made calls to all 3 numbers and left messages. The check has been cashed already and Pete conveniently arranged it that we donâ t have the protection of a credit card. They were here for less than an hour to take out the old insert that I could have done myself. I also found out they could have bought a flexible pipe at Loweâ s and in fact our old fireplace had one. We were taken advantage of at every step. Weâ re back to square one, searching for someone to finish the job. Itâ s obvious they took advantage of us because we are elderly.

When you hire Burn Clean,Inc you will not be disappointed. Pete is the best. He performed an excellent job of cleaning my dryer vent system and installing a new dryer vent kit to prevent flying critters trying to make a nest in there. I really appreciate how he pays attention to details like putting on shoe booties before he entered into your home. Quality of work and price Burn Clean, Inc are the best!
