Hismael and his team helped me out tremendously - I had a disastrous leak causing major damage in my house due to some major issues with a roof deck. They got right to work to help me, stopped the leak, corrected the drainage issues, replaced the drywall both upstairs and down (walls upstairs ceiling downstairs). They even painted afterwards at no extra charge. Very kind and decent pros that helped me out during a really tough time and walked me through the issues that needed to be addressed.

Very unprofessional and seems unable to complete a job. Had to get another plumber to come behind this company and correct their incompetence and shoddy work. I will be taking this company to court.

We were never notified of any issues or reoccurring problems with our work. Certainly, anyone who contacts us for services and puts in any type of complaint is handled free of charge and all expenses are on us. Evidently, this customer decided to choose to call someone else when you could have called us if we even serviced your property as I do not recall phone calls or complaints from this customer to justify this review. We ask you to present proof that you contact us about any recurring issues after we may or may have not serviced your property. Either written or verbal conversation with a representative or a copy of a recorded voice-mail showing.

My service date was January 11, 2022. One day after I started looking for a plumbing professional. Hismael and Carlos were on-time, addressed exactly what I asked for and cleaned up. That was very important to me. After explaining other issue's I wanted addressed at some point in the near future, Hismael took the time to check them out and offer a temporary fix to the one most pressing as it will be a bit more involved once started. And it worked!! I will definitely be seeking his services again due to the professionalism & respect he showed to me and my property. Thank you Hismael! See you when it gets warmer.

Very responsiveÃ¢Â Â great communication and follow-through. It is getting rare these days to find anyone who does what they say they're going to do as in show up! This company called me right away and then were able to come out the next day for a non-emergency plumbing fix. No job too small which is hard to find as well. Very reasonably priced. I would hire again.

We perform this screening when a business applies to join our network and, if the business is accepted, whenever concerns are brought to our attention. We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the state in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Businesses will not be admitted to the network if their owners or principals have the following felonies in their available criminal records*:

Arson

Assault/domestic violence/battery

Child abuse

Intimidation/terrorist threats

Kidnapping/abduction

Lewd and lascivious behavior

Manslaughter/murder/homicide/vehicular homicide

Rape/incest

Robbery/carjacking

Sex offenses

Other felonies not listed above that occurred in the past seven years

Contracting without a license in the past seven years

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened biennially.

How is COVID-19 impacting the HomeAdvisor background check program?

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, several government agencies and courts across the country have temporarily closed their offices. While HomeAdvisor will continue its background check program to the extent possible, these closures could prevent some background checks from being performed. Please be advised that, during this period, if we could not perform a background check, HomeAdvisor will allow the business into the network and match the business to consumers. As affected government agencies and courts begin to re-open, we will resume our program in those jurisdictions. As always, we encourage consumers to perform their own research, to the extent possible, before hiring any business.

Licensing

We verify any applicable state-level licenses, and we require every business to attest that they carry the appropriate local licensing to practice their trade. Please note that HomeAdvisor does not confirm local licensing. Do your own research using online ratings, reviews and through phone interviews before hiring a company.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
