Reviews
Write a ReviewMy experience with this surveyor was extremely disappointing. Initially, the price seemed attractive, but that was where the positives ended. The surveyor was unprofessional, refusing to answer any questions unless I paid extra. They would not put anything in writing or address concerns transparently. They used another surveyor pins, resulting in inaccuracies. The surveyor promised to return to finish the job but never did. Despite repeated attempts to contact them, they failed to complete the work. Do not be fooled by the initial lower price this service is unreliable and ultimately costly. I strongly recommend finding a more professional and trustworthy surveyor.
Regarding the complaint made by Kelly [Consumer Name Removed] Ms. [Consumer Name Removed] contracted with us on April 25, 2024 to perform a survey of her property on [Consumer Information Removed] Street, Scott Township. She paid the required 50% deposit and scheduled her survey with us for May 8, 2024. Prior to that date, we performed preliminary deed research, and plotted her parcel based on the deed information. On May 8, we arrived at her property and proceeded to perform the survey. We looked for survey monumentation on her property and on the surrounding properties in her neighborhood. The boundary lines were then determined based on the deed and on the found evidence in the field. Measurements of the topographic features (house, sidewalks, patio, etc) were also taken. This data was then plotted using a Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) program to generate the survey drawing. This drawing was signed and sealed by a licensed Professional Land Surveyor, and provided to Ms. Marion on May 18, 2024. Provision of the survey drawing satisfied all elements of the contract. However, Ms. [Consumer Name Removed] did not like the findings of the survey. She expressed that she wanted more property on the south side of her parcel. We tried to explain that that was not accurate and was not possible based on the found monumentation and deed description. She insisted that she wanted a detailed survey report to support her position. Such a report is out of scope, and would not support her position anyhow. Despite numerous calls with her, we were unable to convince her that her survey was accurate and complete. Upon completion of the survey contract, the remaining 50% fee was due. Ms. [Consumer Name Removed] did not pay her final obligation for the survey, and in fact demanded a refund of her deposit. We are in the process of filing a complaint with the magistrate to collect on this unpaid debt.
Mark and Scott just wrapped up their work and I could not be more pleased with the service I received today. My property lines were obviously skewed on Google Maps and realtor sites and I was having an issue with someone possibly dumping into my yard. I tried to determine my residential property lines on my own by going through Allegheny Records and getting a metal detector to find monuments. Could not find anything. When I was getting quotes, I got a wide range of quotes from neighbors and businesses. I initially chose Arpenteur because of their good reviews and Joan gave me the lowest quote from anyone. When it was time for my appointment, Mark and Scott arrived early and got to work quickly. Once they had gotten their markings, they walked the property with me and asked where I would like to see additional monuments. Turns out, there weren't any to begin with which explains why I couldn't find any. Mark and Scott were exceedingly friendly and helpful, and now I have a completely different picture of where my property is. I would highly recommend anyone who is in a dispute or just wants to know how far their kids can play to call up Arpenteur and get their lot surveyed.
Very professional and thorough. The resulting document we received was more detailed than the one done when we bought our home. Arpenteur found and re-established the original posts/markings of our property line, which, along with the completed survey, helped resolve an issue with our neighbor.
A very, very professional company. Joan and Mark are the best people to work with. We HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a surveyor. An outstanding company!!! If you need survey work, this is the company to call.
Good communication, professional, answered questions timely
