Write a ReviewRobert Sanchez, the owner, contacted me through Angiâ s List where I had listed that I wanted a custom cabinet made for my living room entertainment center. He sent over what he called his cabinet guy Jim Gibbs to take the measurements on December 27th. They gave a quote of $2,000 and we signed the contract that was under Robert company name of Freak Dog Construction, Jim signed the contract as well, and we gave him a $1,000 downpayment. Jim stated that it would only be a couple weeks as it was an easy project. Jim disappeared, would not answer his phone for me or Robert. When I asked Robert for my deposit back be told me go to Jim, he gave him the money. I found out Jim is not even his employee, but Robert subcontracted the job out to Jim the owner of AZ Shutter & Cabinets. In February I had to file a small claims lawsuit with the City of Surprise Courts, to which neither of them responded too. I was on the last stage of the case, application for default, when suddenly in June, Robert told me to talk to Jim, he wanted to make things right. I got my deposit back plus all the filing and postage fees six months later, June 17th. Then on September 17th I receive a call from the Surprise Police Department, Robert filed a complaint against me and my husband stating we wrote and/or cashed a phony check. WHAT?! Are you serious?! I told them the story about having to file a small claims case, and they asked if I could mail him another copy of the dismissal papers, he thought he was still being sued. NO! He can go to the City of Surprise Courts and ask for a copy; I did what I had to do. I am not doing any thing else extra for someone who tried to screw me.
Freak Dog transformed my outdated kitchen into a modern functional space with amazing speed and efficiency. The project quote was reasonable and contingency costs were limited considering the age of the house. Friendly and reliable professionals.
Robert did a kitchen remodel for us. Robert was professional at all times. He communicated every step of the way. He had great ideas which included taking out a soffit in the kitchen which opened up the entire kitchen. The cabinets and granite are beautiful. I will hire him again when we are ready to re-do our bathrooms. I recommend him highly.
Always showed up until project was completed. Good communication all through the project. Professional and courteous!!
I hired this company to do a full kitchen remodel for me. Their price was competitive and the workers were Very professional, courteous &respectful of my property. They knew what they were doing & did a good job. They cleaned up their workspace at the end of each day. Finished my project in a timely manner. They always showed up when they said they would. I would hire this company again.
Added a 3 car garage to the front of existing 2 car attached garage. They were very easy to deal with and their subs always showed up to get the job completed. They also followed up with all necessary county inspections. Would definately hire again for future projects.
Our customer experience with this company started with the initial call. Robert (the owner) called and explained the process for doing the estimate and the project. He wasn't a high pressure sales rep. He clearly wanted to help us make the best decision. Robert was thorough in the preparation of the estimate and contract. He explained everything and was very detailed. Robert pushed out some walls to get more room in the kitchen, breakfast nook and laundry room. Per Roberts recommendation, we removed soffits to give more height to the rooms which resulted in moving wiring and duct work. The subcontractors were all professional, respectful and worked very hard. The electrician team worked late in the evening to get the work done. We added new cabinets to the laundry room and kitchen. They turned out absolutely beautiful and high quality. The gentleman who built and installed the cabinets was meticulous and produced a quality result. Robert and his son, Bronson, were always available and resolved any issues and questions. We love the results as does everyone who has seen the work. We have heard horror stories about broken promises people have experienced when doing a remodel. We feel so lucky to have been referred to Freak Dog Construction! We are getting ready to do an addition to our second story and we wouldn't want to use anyone else! This is a company you can trust and feel confident to use.
We also had a Sun room converted to be part of the house as well as new front and back patios done. New French doors installed and updated windows throughout Very happy with all the renovations.
They have been fantastic. Kitchen remodel is being finished as I write this. Everything turned out better than I expected. We actually ended up adding several other updates to the original bid and everything has been done to our satisfaction. Robert has kept us up to speed on every step of the way. Best contractor ever!
We recently hired Robert to renovate our home. The schedule was tight but he assured us that he could get the job done within budget and on time. We waited to write the review to ensure everything was taken care of and the quality of work met our expectations. The project came out beautiful and his attention to detail avoided costly oversights. I would highly recommend his company. Both Tammy and Robert provided excellent services and were there every step of the project!! Worth every penny!!!
