I will describe my very bad, frustrating, and ultimately disastrous experience with Al's Satellite in Brodhead. I got an estimate from Al for installing a new antenna early in April of 2022. In an e-mail, he said that if the antenna didn't work, I wouldn't owe anything. He installed the antenna on my tower but said that he would not be able to climb to the top of my tower to install it properly. I agreed but quickly regretted this because by the end of the month the picture on numerous channels was prone to pixelation and scrambling -- at times for periods of 3 to 5 minutes. This affected both the audio and the video and made the programs unwatchable for that period of time. Within a period of 30 days I told him that the antenna was not working because of the pixelation and blackouts of audio and video. Despite his promise in an e-mail that if the antenna didn't work I wouldn't owe anything, he nevertheless sent me an invoice. I pay my invoices in a timely way so I promptly paid the full amount even though at that point I had not had adequate time to evaluate the performance of the antenna. Later he claimed to me that I must have been pleased with the installation of the antenna or I wouldn't have paid the invoice. Nothing could be further from the truth. Needless to say, these things and more continue to be very frustrating for me. He came out to my home a couple of times but nothing he tried, including readjusting the direction the antenna was pointing, managed to solve the problem. He continued to delay by suggesting a variety of reasons that the antenna was not working, all of which I tried but they were to no avail. He claimed that, at those times when he was at my house, the antenna was working fine. I am away from my home for months at a time clearly he wasn't watching at those times when the picture would routinely scramble and black out. I would also get an error message on the TV that said the signal from the antenna was weak or had been lost. This situation has continued for a period a period of a year and a half now. I am a patient and trusting person but everyone has his limit. I contacted him multiple times trying to get the problem fixed or get a refund until he basically said that he would have nothing more to do with me and broke off communication with me. He seems to be ducking my contacts ever since. I am considering taking Al Foesch to small claims court and I probably would have done that long ago if it were not for the fact that I have limited mobility. I still may have to do that because I feel that he lied to me -- he didn't honor his word, as I have outlined above. It has now been nearly a year and a half of excuses and delays and failed attempts to fix the problem ... nearly a year and a half of frustration and he has failed to correct the problem, Neither has he refunded my payment He has said that he will have nothing more to do with me and seems to be avoiding me and my attempts to contact him. Will I have to take him to small claims court? No way can I recommend his services, based on his repeated failures to honor his original promise that I would owe nothing if the antenna didn't work.
I am sorry for your frustration. I made every attempt to resolve the situation. Stopping several times trying to troubleshoot but was not allowed in your house. I told you I could only troubleshoot if you allowed me to do so. When your partner finally let me come into your home, I was able to troubleshoot. There were no issues while I was there. Everything worked as it should. I did notice that you were using an AirTV and let your partner know that most likely would be what was causing the trouble you were having. You refused to believe me or stop using the AirTV to see if that was for sure causing the issue. At that point, there wasn't anything else I could do if you weren't willing to take my suggestions. You have since harassed me by phone, text, emails, and letters in the mail. You have threatened me with physical harm several times. I have never in my 40 years had a customer like you and you can see from my ratings and customer reviews that I come very qualified and recommended.

Al responded to my call quickly and I was very happy with his help. He is the first person I talked to who knew what I was talking about with my antenna problems.
