Reviews
Write a ReviewWe were in the middle of a nightmare experience - 4 months on a bedroom/bathroom remodel and not even new walls finished with putting studs up - pretty tough with 2 kids and having to give up a bedroom and bathroom. Eli and team came in and told us everything off with the prior work and what to look into with that and we changed the next day after looking into their advice. In just 3 weeks they had us moved into the new bedroom completed and are getting the actual, proper permits for the bathroom work that is ongoing. Even with a foreman quitting in the middle of the project they had a replacement crew come in the same day to keep things moving for us. Good communication, great commitment to delivering in a timely and understanding the needs of the people they are doing projects for. Very hopeful to see what the bathroom looks like (especially with getting it done properly). Updated review - bathroom is complete and it looks AMAZING (and fully up to code with passed inspections). Tile work is awesome and the level of professionalism that Alon shows with each room is excellent. Rubi was our project manager and he was visiting multiple times every week to make sure everything was progressing and talking with us, making sure all the supplies needed were there. The team was very polite particularly with the work from home schedule avoiding interruptions and not being extremely loud. Some other issues were found during work and communicated well - we upgraded our electrical panel for a good cost and with Alon helping to get all the permits/coordinate with electrical provider. We greatly, greatly appreciated how well the clean up afterwards was done - an entire day spent power cleaning the exterior where they had cut all the wood/tile/drywall to ensure it looked like before all the work started. Will have to redo our roof in a few years on an older house and know who we are going to use.
Eli and the team have been amazing. They took on a massive project to make our home accessible for our kid who uses a wheelchair. They built an accessible bathroom, built ramps around the house and made sure the bathroom door was able to accommodate a wheelchair. They gave a visual lift to our house by redoing our floors, modernizing the fireplace and adding recessed lighting. It is worth mentioning that they delivered with VERY high quality and ON time as promised. I highly recommend Alon design and remodeling for your house project. And they did it all while always smiling and being positive - a quality hard to find in a contractor. You won't be disappointed working with them.
Only problem is getting a building inspector to come out to sign off on permits.
I had the pleasure of working with Alon on a kitchen and powder room remodel. We're 100% satisfied with the result and are eager to recommend Eli's company to anyone looking for a GC. We got a few bids for the work and the cost came out somewhere in the middle. Eli's presence during the free in-home estimate really set him apart from the rest; he's a straight shooter that speaks in clear terms of what they can do, what they can't do, and what they recommend you do. Him and his company's level of experience is obvious from spending 5 minutes during the consult. The finished work has a level of craftsmanship that exceeds the quality we've seen from other contractors. With that said, I'll get into more detail. Planning and ordering materials took a considerable amount of legwork on our side. Planning the layout was very straightforward. We did it mostly over email correspondence and whatsapp. Our assigned designer listened to our needs and concerns, though he seemed pretty busy - we had to poke him a bit here and there. As the customer, we were on point to order all materials aside from things like drywall, piping, and wiring. Basically, if it was the sort of thing that a customer would have preference over... we were expected to select it, buy it, and time the delivery appropriately. Now, we weren't on our own by any means. The designer made recommendations and hooked us up with preferred suppliers and accompanied us with occasional showroom visits, but there was a definite handoff pretty early where we were working directly with the suppliers. We preferred this, and maybe it worked this way because of the way I like doing things; we had 100% assurance that everything going into the kitchen was exactly what we wanted. Once planning was finished and materials arrived, the work was completed in 5 weeks from the start of demolition to completion, which was a week longer than the original 4 weeks quoted. Most details were accounted for during planning, but there were a few odd things that were not - and this I believe was what resulted in the delays. They may not have happened if we did things a bit more face to face, but our covid preferences made that a non-starter. On top of that, communication about when crews would be on-site were not completely 100%, though very good compared to past experiences with other contractors. That said, generally if someone didn't show up one day, all I had to do was text the guy in charge of my project and he had someone over asap. Any sort of organization missteps seemed to be offset from what appears to be a very large network of trusted partners they've built. I can't remember the name of the head carpenter that installed our cabinets, but he really knocked it out of the park when we found out last minute that they'd need to be rebuilding a window frame/sill from scratch. Their focus on customer service and satisfaction is top-grade. Throughout the entire process, my wife and I felt heard. We got a phone call anytime there was any small decision that we hadn't already planned. I can't remember the details at this point, but there was a case or two where something was done differently from our expectations. Simply pointing it out was all that it took for it to be corrected - and at no point did I ever catch as much as a grumble about it. What's more, after the work was completed, they invited us to call them back in a month or so to give them a chance to address any issue we found. We did call them back, and they did show up promptly - and that's after we'd already paid them.
Poor project manager. Good employees.

I had an amazing experience, thank god! It s always a little skeptical finding someone to trust with such a huge project. They went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. They were so easy to communicate with along the way. I remodeled my mother s kitchen and two full bathrooms. She loves the upgrade, and we would recommend Alon Design and Remodeling to all our friends and family.
