ARS-Durham installed a brand new HVAC unit two and a half years ago. Six months ago it stopped cooling so I called for service. The technician diagnosed a faulty Schrader valve and replaced it. Despite the age of the system and it being in warranty I was charged in full for the repair and the refrigerant ($700+). Fast forward 6 months, the system is having trouble again with poor performance. I called ARS-Durham and after describing the situation and my concern that they may not have fixed the actual leak, they tried to sell my a new system instead. Once I declined they scheduled an appointment, which they never bothered to show up to.

Heat pump actually needs to be replaced. Tech showed me video and testing he performed. And why my heat pump was not working. Got up to a cold house this morning. Tried everything I knew to get the house warmer. Called ARS, the scheduled tech and he showed up the same day. I will have to wait for new heat pump to come in. I am satisfied with service so far.

I had just had unit installed 2&1/2 yrs ago. Too early for problems. They sent a repairman that same day(which was excellent). He checked out the complete unit while he was here(which was excellent). Conclusion was the heat function had tripped the circuit breaker & shut it all down. He fixed the problem & advised that if it happened again that the breaker ìwas probably too small for the unit. Just have to wait & see now. Excellent service, friendly service, good attitude. I'm impressed.
