We cannot recommend Ark Renovations LLC on State ST. in New Albany, IN for any job. It is advisable for anyone to check any business reviews prior to hiring them for a service. BBB, City chamber of commerce, and Indiana mycase.gov etc.. Search Ark Renovations* In Feb. 2022 we hired Ark Renovations LLC/ Rick McGinnis Jr. to finish app. 615 sq. ft of unfinished basement space. They began work on March 21, 2022. As of June 7th, they had only been on the job site 15 days out of nearly 60 weekdays. Rick McGinnis Jr had verbally told us it would take between 35-45 days to complete this job. Some of the days they were only on the job site for a couple of hours, some days not showing up until 11:00 and later. We asked on many occasions to be informed when they would or would not be on the job. That seldom happened so we wasted a lot of our personal time waiting on them. Rick McGinnis Jr. went days/weeks at a time and did not communicate with us. Our attorney sent ARK a Demand letter mid-August to get them back to work. ARK gave the attorney a conditional completion date of August 30, 2022. By October 31, 2022, they still were not finished, and circumstances led us to believe it would still be more than a month to complete. So, after 7 months of complete aggravation, we finally fired Ark Renovations on Nov. 1, 2022, due to substandard work and not giving any real effort to finishing the job. We have many pictures of the substandard work they performed. They had people painting without lighting, some of the area has no windows so they were painting by the light on their cell phones. The paint job was so horrible in some areas that we agreed to change the trim paint color to try and camouflage the bad paint job. Some of the walls have multiple coats of paint because they had to repair bad drywall work so many times and then repaint. ARK will post finished jobs as Beautiful Customs, charge Beautiful Customs prices, but will use of some the cheapest contractor grade materials they can find unless you go purchase them yourself. We have many pictures to support this claim. We have spent many hours doing repair and touch up to their Beautiful Customs work. There are many areas of this job that were completely unacceptable, paint is only one. We got nothing but excuses from the owner when he would communicate. Some of the work they agreed to do was ultimately never done, the owner just quit acknowledging any communication concerning the item. He agreed to update our back posts in exchange for agreeing to do a custom ceiling, but later claimed that it would cost him too much to do the ceiling. He was asked numerous times if he could have the porch posts updated in time for events happening on our property, to which he would never respond. We have text messages and documentation to support these claims. Does ARK think if they ignore it long enough it will go away???

While the company was represented by the person the did the actual work, it was clearly not a professional job. This was a costly lesson learned on my part. While after some pressure, he did come back out to try to make things right, by finishing some work, and reattaching a shed strap he had cut, just on and on. I still cannot get my riding mower in that part because he made the door opening too narrow. Geez, I am still hearing from people that this pro is saying I was unhappy about 3 screws being different! OK! I mean really, lol. If you go with this company. Do not fall for a friendly talker and make sure its the company doing the work and not someone trying to make a quick dollar by using the company name. And get everything in writing

I was selling my house during the inspection they found some things that needed be repaired before I could sell. I needed a roofing company to make the repairs and only had a few days the get it done. I contacted ARK. Rick came out and looked at what was needed. He said the were busy but he would get it fixed in time, Two days later the repairs were made with time to spare.

I hired ARK Renovation to extend my deck and put a roof on it. Rick was confident and very knowledgeable about handling my deck and some. Rick will also be working on my walk-in shower as well. I definitely will be recommending Rick to my family and friends.

I hired Rick in Oct 2017 to finish a bathroom closet, Rick did a fabulous job very happy with the work. I would hire Rick again, actually we did have Rick come back out to the house around 3 weeks ago to give us a price on repairing our deck, he came looked at what we needed, and said he would get back to us as this deck needs some serious work. A week or so later, I texted Rick about some work that my sister needs completed who lives in the same neighborhood and also ask if he had gotten a price for my deck job, Rick said for me to send him my sisters contact # and that he would get back with my husband and I the coming weekend on our deck. Rick didn't show up or call, I texted him again about getting with my sister and our deck job, no response to date. My husband and i really like Rick, and are little disappointed that we aren't getting any response back from him. My sister has had to move on to someone else to complete her work, and we will have to figure out which way we need to go from with our deck. One last note i truly do understand that with the weather finally breaking into summer, i know that all small business owners in this line of work are probably going nuts trying to keep up with their job demands, what i don't understand is the lack of communication.

Rick and his crew at ark renovations are friendly trustworthy and do great work. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing work done to their home.

A very small job but the technicians came after a traditional work day to complete the necessary job. Rick worked with my schedule to see that a report could be timely sent to my insurance agent. After the initial roof repair, Rick and his staff installed an underground pet fence and created/improved existing electrical outlets so that the fence terminator could be plugged into a convenient outlet. His prices are reasonable and he always lets you know when he will arrive, even if he is held up in traffic.

Called Rick and he made effort to address my need late in the day and worked with my schedule.
