Review We had them out to do our basement a month ago and it almost cost my mom her life. First off, they originally told us that it would take 2 days to complete the job but they rushed through and did it in one. This would be fine if it was done properly. They did not clean up the dust properly. When we came home our entire basement and main floor were covered in a thick layer of dust and debris. I understand that we had a lot of work done and there will be a mess but we were told they would be blowing at least some of the dust out the window. When we came back throughout the day to check in there was no fans in place and there wasnâ t any dust in the yard. We didnâ t even make a big deal over the fact that, in an effort to clean up, that they just took a brush and brushed the dust into our carpet even more. We spent the next several days deep cleaning the entire house before we could turn our AC back on. Luckily, our AC unit has extra filters and the dust from the basement didnâ t make it to the top floor. They came on a Thursday and by Sunday we were all feeling sick. We went to urgent care where we were diagnosed with respiratory infections due to the mismanagement of toxic materials. By Tuesday, it had gotten so bad that my mom had to go to the hospital. My mom had double pneumonia and a blood clot in her lung. If that had gone to her heart she would have died. She spent several days in the hospital for treatment and monitoring. The only positive experience we had in all of this was Lon. He sent out a cleaning person to help clean up the house while my mom was in the hospital. He was the only person that we spoke to from 58 Foundations that had an ounce of compassion. Everyone else that we spoke with were so utterly disrespectful it was shameful. Rocky and other upper management called us liars and told us that it was â scientifically impossibleâ that we got sick from their work and that pneumonia and bronchitis canâ t develop in a matter of days. The most recent person kept stating he was actually an EMT and Paramedic and that there is absolutely no way any of this happened as a result of their work. He eventually slipped up and told us he looked it up and the internet said it wasnâ t possible. Iâ m sure if you look hard enough you can find an article to backup any claim, so Iâ m sure he did find something that said that but Iâ m sure he had to dig. I sincerely hope they provide their workers with better safety equipment because I would hate to see the long term effects of this kind exposure to these materials has on their health. We now have thousands of dollars in hospital bills on top of a 10 thousand dollar bill for this system they sold us. That being said, the dehumidifier seems to work, itâ s just not worth the pain and suffering caused by this company.

Response from Company:

Hi Hannah, we take customer safety and feedback very seriously and we're sorry to learn about your family's health issues. We want to address a few key points from your review of our services: Dust Management: as discussed before and during your project, the work required to remove the mold from your home would generate a significant amount of dust and debris as we had to remove several layers of sheet rock from the basement to successfully remove the mold that was present. You may remember this conversation when we required your family to wear PPE masks when entering the home while work was being performed. We always do our best to clean up as much as possible and apologize if any of the dust came as a surprise. We understand the clean-up didn't meet your expectations, which is why we sent out a cleaning service free of charge after our work was complete. Health Concerns: while we understand the seriousness of your family's health issues, our previous conversations with the homeowners explained why our materials and processes wouldn't have caused these specific medical conditions. Solution Performance: We're pleased to hear the solution we provided is working well. We apologize if the shortened timeline led to any misunderstandings about the completion of work. As standard practice, we always let our customers know how long the project could take (and are happy to finish early) so they can fully prepare in case the time required ends up being on the longer side of our estimate. We value the trust you placed in us and encourage you to contact us if you have further concerns we haven't addressed. We thank you for your feedback, as it helps us to constantly improve our services for all customers.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I contacted 58 Foundations due to water occasionally sitting in my crawlspace and a musty smell coming into the house. Lon Bxxxxxxxx came out and gave me a quote for an encapsulation, dehumidifier, and drainage tile at 18k. And also, a quote for just encapsulation and a dehumidifier for $8,000. I went with the 8K package after being told multiple times that it would keep the water below the encapsulation and stop the smell. A month later, all the tape joints blew apart, and water began sitting on top, causing mold to start. I contacted the company and asked for a refund, as they advertise based on being sold a product that clearly did not do what I was sold. It really felt like the salesperson was just trying to get a commission off of the sale. I had multiple service technicians come back out with no solution. I contacted one of their managers, and I was basically told to because they had offered the whole package, so I went with the other option. Their solution was for me to remove the bottom layer, dispose of it at my expense, and install drain tile. Then they would come back and reinstall the bottom layer. I installed the drain tile and scheduled them to come out and reinstall the bottom layer. The installer said there was confusion and he was not prepared for the job, so they had to reschedule. I asked for some sort of compensation for everything I have gone through and was offered a year of free service work for $200. Why would I want that when they cannot even manage to get their service work right the first time? The initial install date was 10/19/22, and as of today, 8/12/23, I still do not have a complete product that I paid $8k for. I am now rescheduled for the end of August, possibly September, to get the bottom layer reinstalled. Also, I want to mention that the dehumidifier was supposed to be hung. Instead, it was set on milk crates from the back of the tech van. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any company!

Our basement walls are made of field stone and had lost a lot of the mortar. Lon explained our options and we chose to have the walls repairs, sealed with a vapor seal and concrete applied. The workers kept the route clean and made sure it was neat at the end of each day. The work was meticulous! The three person crew was polite and they did a great job!

I thought my husband and I would contribute to Alex's reviews since we spent time with Jose and his team for the 3 days at Alex's house. We were amazed at how much attention was taken to ensure all our furniture and belongings were covered to mitigate dust. We are so completely satisfied with the dedication and expertise of Jose and his team. They left the basement in the best condition it was ever in. Very neat and clean, a great looking job. Kudos multiple times over for the finest production job we've seen in a very long time. They installed the interior drains and sump pump as well as a dehumidifier. No more dark, dank basement. It was an excellent experience. Thank you, Lon, Amber and Jose and team. Also a thank you to Jack Roadcap who recommended Lon to us. Warmest regards, Mary Ann Pinamonti

Response from Company:

Ms. Pinamonti, thank you so much for your kind review! We're glad to hear that Jose took the time to make sure the furniture was considered, and that you're happy with your basement's condition! If there's anything further we can do to help you, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Were willing to work with budget, scheduling & any concerns I had. Once we agreed on cost, they had a crew out within 2-3 weeks. I had a full perimeter solution completed on a small house within 2-3 days.

Response from Company:

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review, we appreciate the feedback. Happy we could help!

Brett Boyles and his crew did a great job on getting rid of mold and repairing the area which was affected. They were on time, explained the process and began work immediately. They kept us up to date as to what they were doing and what we could expect with the new sump pump and dehumidifer. Thanks for a great job

Response from Company:

We had a great experience hiring '58 Foundations to waterproof our basement! Lon was our salesperson, and he came and explained the work that would be necessary to ensure that water would never flood our basement again. We appreciated him taking the time to explain how the whole process worked, and providing us with the option to finance the project to make it affordable for us. We had Brett Boyles and his crew, John and Clarence, come to do the work, and they did a fantastic job! Brett even came to show us the progress in the middle of the project and explained every detail of the work that was being done. He was very professional and we appreciated how he gave us peace of mind about everything once the project was completed. I would highly recommend '58 Foundations for anything basement-related. We appreciate your business - thank you!

Led by Brett Boyles (foreman) out of the York/Red Lion area; Brett, Clarence and John took care of some flooding issues that have been plaguing us for years. They fixed cracked cinder block walls, they put in a BDry system that is BEAUTIFUL, they turned a passive French-Drain system into an active system, and they turned an unhealthy basement into one with healthy air quality. They worked so hard and were so courteous, I feel so much more relaxed now. Brett knows his stuff and the other guys were awesome as well. I am so grateful...NOBODY ELSE will touch my basement ever again.....only 58 Foundations!!! Thank you guys, very much. Sincerely, Dan Crum
