A full (you know what I mean?) toilet overflowed and the plumber called servepro. They mopped up the clean water in the bathroom and kitchen. They also said because of the age of the house there may be asbestos and/or mold in the walls, under cabinets and flooring in both rooms. Although the house was originally built in 1946, both rooms were remodeled about 15 yrs ago. The contractor didn't mention anything about asbestos or mold at that time. The new linoleum (same in both rooms) was laid over the old. The old linoleum may have been laid in the 70s (as the colors are rust, avocado, & gold) may have asbestos in it but none of it was ever pulled out in the remodel. I'm considering LV, real hardwood, or real tile for the floors in an upcoming remodel. Hopefully it can be laid over the existing 2 layers of linoleum without disturbing any possible asbestos.
